Fun way to see a cool part of NYC

I went with my husband on his business trip to NYC. Since he had to work all day, I decided to do the Food Tour of Greenwich Village as a way to entertain myself. The tour was great. We had a very fun group with people from around the world. Our tour guide Sephera (sp?) was awesome! She was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. We sampled lots of food and learned a lot about the area. Even though the tour is about 3 hours, it's not tons and tons of walking. Really had a fun time and would definitely recommend this tour to others.

We so much enjoyed this tour. Diana was fabulous. She was knowledgeable about the neighborhood and had a lot of personality. The food was wonderful. The pace was perfect. We always try to do a food tour when we are vacationing and this is the reason! So much fun and loved the neighborhood and food. Diana even threw in some history along the way.

Lots of local knowledge you can't get on your own

This tour was informative, and gave us a good overview of Greenwich with lots of local context. The only improvement I would suggest is more structure and explanations in the eateries selected - why, how, etc. - currently it seems a bit random, and seems driven more by commercial viability/ willingness of eateries more than a deliberate selection that completes a story. Still, Diana our guide should be commended for her knowledge on the locale - and also for the good mix of history, architecture combined with the food tasting.

A fantastic way to explore part of the city: great food, interesting aspects of a neighbourhood - led by a personable fun guide. So much great food - no only did this cover our lunch - but it was mostly dinner too. You must do this - and do it within the first half of your trip so that you have time to come back to your favourite places for a meal.

The Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour far exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Heather, was personable and knowledgeable. The tour is really well organized - you're never left standing around, waiting for food, etc. When we walked into a store or restaurant, they knew we were coming and were ready for us. Heather was always there with plates and/or napkins to hand out. The variety of food was impressive - we had eight different tastings in a 3 hour period, and learned alot about the area - both cultural and historical tidbits - in other words, a non-foodie will be entertained as well. The walk was not rigorous, so it wouldn't be a problem for older or sedentary people. They give you a "break" midway through (while noshing on a lovely bowl of risotto) to regroup and use the restroom - the whole thing was extremely well thought out. My friend and I agreed before it was over that this will definitely be the first of several tours we'll take through this outfit.

Fabulous Behind The Scenes Tour

We were born and raised in NJ with NY so close. Although we live out of state now and were back visiting grown children, we thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour. It took us to places we probably would not go to ourselves and gave us inside information about the establishment, their product(s) and the owners. Our guide made the tour especially enjoyable. She was fabulous and had a great sense of humor. We couldn't have asked for a better tour. We will definately take one of the other tours offered the next time we are visiting the city. Even the rain didn't spoil it for us. Simply Wonderful!
