Totally worth it!

Cindy was warm, funny and gregarious; she immediately made 12 strangers an extended family. She had so much to tell us about the neighborhood, the people and their businesses. The food was delicious and quite enough in lieu of lunch. We were welcomed warmly by all we visited. I definitely feel comfortable returning to the area on my own armed with a dining, pub, deli, bakery, dessert plan.

i thought this was an excellent way to learn more about a neighborhood i love. as a local, it definitely opened me up to new places (and reminded me of some old favorites). i will be back for full meals. i felt the tour ran a little long and we could have cut some of the "digestion" time and done a little less of the neighborhood/architecture element - i would have been happy if this was just about the food.

Barri's knowledge of not only the food, but the history of the neighborhood, was tremendous. She was very informative and made the tour very enjoyable. We left right on time and the tour ran a little over 3 hours. There was also plenty of food causing me to leave on a full stomach.

This was my third Foods of New York Tour and once again it was GREAT! If you are visiting the city, you must put this on your to-do list. It's a great way to see the different neighborhoods of NYC. Our guide, Marie was a sweetheart. She was very personable, enthusiastic and had a great knowledge of the history of the area which we really enjoyed. The restaurant/shop selections on the tour were very good. It was a nice variety and the food was of a very high quality. I can't say enough good things about this experience, my mother and I are looking forward to a return trip and taking the NoLita tour. Thanks Marie for a great day! Sincerely, Laura Smith, Buffalo, NY

This is the second food tasting tour that I have been on with this company. I have loved both tours, one of Chelsea Market and then Greenwhich Village. I have learned such interesting facts about NYC. The food is amazing as is all that you learn about it. Our tour guide was very informative and made your feel right at home. Will definately do again.

We learned a lot about the west village, tasted a wide range of delicious food (main theme was Italian, but it wasn't exclusively Italian food). My wife and I are long-time vegetarians, and our tour guide was really great about getting us alternative samples for the few stops that were meat-based tastings.

Review of Greenwich Village Tour

My friend and I joined a group led by Barry. She was very informative and enjoyabe. All the food tastings were unique and tasty. Also she had immense knowledge about the historic part of the Village. My only recommendation would be to have somewhere to sit, not necessarily in the establishment, but perhaps on a bench or a wall. It was very tiring for those of us who are olde to have to stand on a street corner and eat something.. You might decrease the number of places and have at least two sit down opportunities. It was nice having time for a glass of wine. A possible idea would be a senior tour and a regular tour. Over all, we highly recommend it and would do another one. Nelda H. Scroggs Clyde, NC

Food tastings were plentiful! Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable of the area. It was great to learn the history of the area along with the food tastings. I would definitely revisit at least 3 of the restaraunts that we were introduced to.
