Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

Great food in an interesting New York neighbourhood all presented in a fun and friendly way. This tour provided an opportunity to find some of New York's best food and to learn a little of one area's history. The variety of food, as well as the amount of food was perfect. Our tour guide, Barri, and the shop/restaurant staff were knowlegible and welcoming. I took the tour 2 days ago and have already recommended it to several friends as a "must-do" if they ever visit NYC. If I get the chance to go back I will definitely book another of your food tours. I really appreciated your information and coupon booklet too; with so many food choices in NYC it is hard to know where to eat. Your booklet made finding more great food much easier! First let me say that our guide was fantastic. Oops forgot her name. We loved the tour, her sense of humour and all the food we ate. While we loved the olive oil place, and we did go back to buy something after the tour, I understand it is a chain so would have preferred another smaller, independent place to support. Also, overall, we felt the tour itself was a bit too long. 2 - 2 1/2 hours max would have been preferred. Having said that I would definitely consider going on another tour of yours next time I am in NYC. Thanks again.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the food tour of Greenwich Village has been a highlight of our New York holiday. We were welcomed by our guide, Sephra, who possessed a great sense of humor, a clear gift for communication and some real and interesting information. (Our experience tells us not all guides in NY have these attributes.) Our group included a number of other Australians which contributed to a light hearted and fun tour. The food was a delight, highlighted in my opinion with the wine bar at Centro Vinoteca and the starting pizza at Joe's. However there was not a weak moment on the tour and we enjoyed Milk and Cookies, Murray's and O & Co as well as all other stops. The food was delicious and of sufficient variety to keep the interest levels up. There was also plenty of it. The tour also included other interesting sites and buildings; my 18 year old was thrilled to see the 'Friends' house. Thank you Food Tous. This tour was much anticipated by us and you did not disappoint. I returned to Greenwich Village the following day and spent some time walking and visiting various stores. We highly recommend this tour. We just hope you have the pleasure of being hosted by Sephra or someone with a similar gift.

I really went on this tour for my wife because I knew she wanted to do it! However, Marie (I think that was her name, but I may be mistaken!) made us all enjoy ourselves and I think we all learned a great deal about the area. I will definitely be revisiting some of the places on the tour.

Besides the fact that it was raining our guide Raheem made it very enjoyable with his knowledge and wit. I would recommend the tour as something different and fun.

We had an amazing guide that not only told us about the various foods we enjoyed, but much of the history and architecture of the area.

I took this tour with my two sons, who are in their 20s. We all enjoyed the different food, interesting facts about the area and the entertaining tour guide. Plenty of food at an enjoyable pace.

My 4 friends are always looking for something fun to do when we get together. This was a perfect way to spend our day together. We got to taste different foods, learn some interesting facts and just enjoy our time together. Our tour guild Bert was great! If you are looking for something different to do in the city I would highly recommend this tour.

Kari-Ann was an awesome, knowledgable and enthusiastic guide. Food was excellent and and the history of the area proved to be very interesting. Highly recommend and I am looking foward to doing another food tour next time I am in New York.
