Having previously been on the Chelsea Market & Meatpacking District tour on a very cold February day, this tour provided a complete contrast, both in terms of the weather as well as the contents. This tour took us not only to the busy sidewalks outside the variety of shops and restaurants but also to the quieter streets of the Village where we learnt so much of the history of the area. The food variety of pizzas, cheeses, pastries, chololates, donner kebabs, cookies etc. gave us plenty to consider and enjoy. One possible suggestion would be to consider including another liquid refreshment stop - maybe a coffee or soft drink - as three hours in the heat could leave you dry. Certainly will recommend.

This is an absolutely fantastic tour that you cannot miss. If you are a fan of great food and interesting history then you should take this tour. We were lucky, our group was small (10) the weather was fantastic (sunny 70's) and our guide (Mike) was the greatest. He was very knowledgeable, humorous, and all the locals knew him. We had no idea that Greenwich Village was such a quiet oasis in Manhattan. The specialty food shops and "hole in the wall" Zagat rated restaurants are plentiful. For the price your'e nuts if you don't do it. We can't wait to try the Chelsea Market tour next.

Guide was very informative about both the history and architecture of the neighborhood as well as the restaurants and food establishments in the area. The food tastings were diverse and gave a good overview of the diversity in the Village. Great tour.

We explored familiar streets - and the guide ( Curt) opened up the world hidden in plain sight! Stopping in all the restaurants on Cornelia Street - a street we'd just zip past - to the hidden former speakeasy we discovered a new city - while having a very enjoyable time. The three of us - all "veterans" of NY (living in Connecticut) were delighted with the day - and with Curt's insightful and funny commentary. The pace was perfect - leisurely but not lingering too long at any one spot. Go - you'll enjoy!

Too many people for this type tour

Michael talked too much, moved too little. Over 20 people made the group unwieldy and very impersonal... Walk around yourself w/ a good guidebook and you'd do better!

I've lived in Greenwich Village nearly 4 years now and still had plenty to learn! They really do take you to the fun non-tourist spots and continually update the tour with new places!
