The food tour of Greenwich Village was awesome! Lots of tasty samples along with a little culture and history lesson. Learned a lot about the architecture in the neighborhood as well as uncovered some places we wanted to return to. We can't wait to take another tour the next time we are in the City! Do it!

Our experience with the food tour was really a positive one. Our guide, Heather, was very knowledgeable about the area, the history and background. She shared lots of details and made the experience fun. And the food.....yummy! We got to sample many different types of food and had more than enough. We covered a lot of area but went at a pace comfortable for the group. This tour was a highlight of our trip and would be eager to do some of the other food tours of other areas. The cost of the tour was very reasonable and the quality was superb! Thanks!

Marie took us on a culinary adventure that I will look fondly on for years to come. She did an outstanding job introducing us to the Greenwich Village history, culture, and most of all, food. The quality, variety, and quantity of the food far exceeded my expectations. Come hungry! Marie went out of her way to make this a very special experience; taking us into the hidden treasures of Greenwich Village and including us on an experimental new stop on their tour. (Include Centro- the gnocchi was to die for!) If you love history, culture, and food, this is money well spent for an amazing experience.

What a super tour guiding you through the heart of West Village/Greenwich's finest bakeries, delicatessens, restaurants, pizzerias. Our accommodation at Christopher Street was actually in the hub of it all and this tour gave us an insight into our district by helping us to settle in and familiarise ourselves with the area. Cannot recommend this tour enough.

My husband and I enjoyed this so much - Michael was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide and kept us entertained. The food was delicious and just enough. Personally,I didn't care for the Centro tasting, which was a lamb dish and I thought it was rather bland, but my husband loved it. Loved hearing the history of the neighborhood and the buildings around it,and it was well worth the time and money.

The tour was great - wonderful food; a great tour guide (Kurt) with lots of interesting facts seasoned with wit; a lovely group of folks from both the US and abroad; and a glorious sunny, warm fall day in Greenwich Village. What more could you want? This was a perfect tour for a group of friends, a family or a solo traveler like me whose family members are not foodies and whose friends’ schedules just didn’t mesh. Two tips for those considering the tour: (1). Eat lightly the night before and have an apple for breakfast the day of (I did both and did not eat another thing for the rest of the day!) and (2). if you are in town for a few days, do the tour first thing so that you have time to come back and enjoy the Village. I left NYC the next day, but fortunately live close enough to come back, and I will be back to the Village to take advantage of my new found knowledge. Thanks Food of New York to a tour well done!

We visited Greenwich village in 2005 with our two children, and while we enjoyed looking around we really didn't get a feel for what the neighbourhood is like, or any of the history or quirks of this interesting area. Visiting again, just as husband and wife this time, we decided to take in a tour as we are keen 'foodies' and this tour came highly recommended on the tripadvisor site. This time we really did learn a great deal more about the neighbourhood, such that we wished we were staying closer in order to make use of the local knowledge we were given and the hints and tips on where and what to eat. Our guide was excellent and the group we were with were interesting company. We only wish we had done this tour on our previous visit. As I am a vegetarian, I found the selection on offer good, I didn't feel excluded in any way. If I had any suggestion, it would have been nice to have the opportunity to perhaps have a drink along the way, the cheese and olive tasting would have been even better with a glass of wine, even if an extra charge was made. Overall a fascinating and enjoyable 3 hours and well worth the money.
