This was a great tour whicg was lead by a very informed, knowledgable, enthusiastic young lady. She knew how every 'taste' was made and presented it well. She gave us information about resturants tucked away that you would not normally see and definatley ones that I would visit again. Thank you

Excellent Way to Explore an Area

We completely enjoyed our walking tour of Greenwich Village. It was excellent because we got to try foods that maybe we normally wouldn't have tried. Also got to experience many different restaurants a little at a time. Because of the history of the area, it was really neat to learn from the guide. Totally recommend this as a way to get to know an area... but be warned you'll want to go back and spend more time exploring yourself!

Excellent tour and guide

Barri was an excellent guide - cheerful, friendly and very knowledgeable. She gave us a good insight into the history and culture of the Village as well as the food. There was the right balance between food, history and culture. The restaurants and delis were good, and made us feel welcome. The highlights were the deli and cheese shop, although my wife and I especially liked the cookies and the Italian pastries! However we felt it was odd to go to an olive oil shop to taste imported products. We feel you should be showcasing all-American, either home grown or home cooked. While the oils we tasted were exellent, we are from the UK and have easy access to a wide variety of European oils. It would have been fine if the olive oils had been American. Apart from that personal view, the rest of the tastings and the tour were most enjoyable.

An excellent tour. We'd taken a walking tour of Greenwich Village a few years ago, but this added a whole new dimension. After the tour we returned to the olive oil shop to buy some things and later that evening came back to the Village to have dinner at one of the restaurants the guide had recommended - Cornelia Street Cafe. It was very good. The only slight criticism was that we had a bit of difficulty finding Murray's Cheese Shop to start the tour. We had a street number, but if we'd been told it was at the corner of Bleeker and Cornelia that would have been helpful. We'll definitely recommend it to others.

Great way to experience New York

We (mother and daughter from the Netherlands) came to New York for the first time of our lives and wanted to do something different. We are both interested in food (tasting) and this tour gave a unique way to see New York from a different point of view. Our guide Sefra is a very enthusiastic woman who knows all about the neighbourhood, shops, restaurants and their historic background. We tasted some lovely food from New York thin crust pizza to all kind of cheeses, cookies, Italian specialities and visited all kind of very nice stores and thiny restaurants. We recommend this tour to everybody from Europe but also from the U.S.A.

Very well done, the last part in the old part of Greenwich was very good, we really liked it! between Hudson Street and 7th avenue. Restaurants were good and the guide tour "Heather" was very professional. We did the Chelsea market tour the day after and we were less Enthusiastic, ones again we liked the outdoor part on Meatpacking district. I think it is worth organising tour in other languages as there is a lot to learn in Greenwich area history.

Greenwich tour guide Barrie. She was very knowledgeable on vendors history and products, area history, as well as architecture which I had no interest in initially but by the end of the tour I wanted to know more.Food samples were all good/exceptional, Who could imagine that Macaroni & Cheese could be better than ever experienced ?.

What a wonderful way to spend 3 hours in Greenwich Village. Our guide, Kurt, [a fellow Canadian] told us stories & anecdotes about the area, culture & the wonderful food we sampled. He seemed to have a friendly rapport with all the vendors & was very respectful of the "locals" whose neighborhood we were exploring. We laughed, learned & enjoyed every morsel. Thanks Kurt. We had great fun. The Canadian girl friends.
