Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

My husband and I, along with another couple, took the GV Food Tour on Saturday. What a delightful experience. The weather was superb, which added to our great experience. Barri, our guide, was just terrific. She spoke clearly and very intelligently on all of the neighborhood restaurants and sights. She was very knowledgeable on all of the tastings. She kept the group moving, but at no time did we feel hurried. I will highly recommend this trip to all of our family and friends. Irene Baebler

It was wonderful. We had eight samplings of food and each one was better than the next. We kept the map and the listing of places and will surely return. The only thing that could have made it better was a bit more non-food related history and culture of the area

This tour was informational, wonderful fun, and filled with delicious treats. Our guide, Maria, was entertaining as well as very knowledgeable. The neigborhood we explored was lovely and completely unexpected to find in NYC. The three hours went by very quickly. Can't wait to go back and enjoy the restaurants and stores we visited again. My friends spanned in age from 30 to 67 and we all were in agreement. Don't miss this tour.

My girlfriend and I took a trip to New York City, and this tour was recommended by a couple of our friends. I'm glad I took up their recommendation and went on this tour. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this tour. The places stopped for food on this tour varied, but they were all good. We started off with pizza at Joe's; which is probably the best pizza I've every had. Along the way we stopped at a vegetarian Asian restaurant, and even stopped at a cheese shop. Even though all the food stops were differently, the food was great. And there IS enough where you are full after the tour. The history and architecture that was also discussed on the tour was very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgable, and presented the information in a way where it wasn't boring to hear and learn. Our guide was also good when it came to being asked questions. She was able to answer all of them. The tour was 3 hours long, but it was quick 3 hours. Time flew by quickly. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

It was a great way to get history and lunch on a beautiful fall afternoon. Our guide was very informative and the group size was just right. Would love to take another one of thier tours on my next trip to NYC.

I know that it was a food tour, but I would have liked a little more history of the area. The neighborhood is rich with history and diversity. The food that we were able to taste was excellent. I felt that an explanation of all the restraunts was a little overdone. Would still recommend highly.

We started with pizza and continued to have an amazing tour of the area -- we learned about the foods of the area - the restaurants of the area - the people - the history - and general knowledge of Manhattan --I would take this tour again --it was informative and great fun. The guide was amazing!

Enjoyed the food AND the history .... felt like I got to know Greenwich Village a little better and understand the history of the area. Loved our guide and enjoyed everyone in our group.

Although I'd been in The Village several times, it was never during the day. I had no idea where to eat, or to see the architecture as well as history of the buildings.This tour presented not only places to eat,but also places to purchase foods. As we walked along and learned about the history of Greenwich, we ate our foods. Such fun!!!

Cindy was our wonderful guide. She made our tour fun and very informative. We loved all the tastings and enjoyed learning so much about Greenwich village that we would never have done without the tour. We took our two teenage children and they also had a great time. We returned to eat in one of the recommended restaurants, the Cornelia St Cafe but would not highly rate it. Better to prebook one of the others she recommends such as Home, Havana or Po. Enjoy.
