Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

The tour we took was wonderful: great choices of restaurants and tastings. The Greenwich Village area was fantastic and as locals, we even learned a few new things about our city. The very best part was the guide, Kurt. This guy was engaging, entertaining, funny, informative and made us all feel like he cared that we enjoy our tour. He was the best!

We had a wonderful tour with Marie. The food was fabulous, the history was very interesting. I really enjoyed getting to talk to the chefs/ owners. I will be coming back in June and will probably do the tour again.

We loved this tour! Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and the food was fantastic... I had taken the tour several years ago and wanted my friends to experience it. Little did I know that it would be a whole new experience for me as well. If you've been on the tour before - try it again!

Our guide was enthusiastic and sincere in her love and interest in Greenwich Village which made for an engaging and enjoyable tour. The food tastings were diverse and accessible.

My sister and I are from Washington state and took a chance on this tour by the reviews of other people. Our guide was Marie and she was so informative, funny, was well spoken and generally was concerned that we all had a wonderful time. I was not disappointed and will do it again when I have a chance. Marie - you were awesome. It was so interesting to meet all the other people in our group from all over the country and even in Canada.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Heather was a delight. We notice that many of your tour guides are actors/actresses and this is great as they are so used to being in front of people. The food choices themselves were wonderful. We had been on this tour a few years ago and enjoyed it as much, although there were two less "tastings". More is better. We loved this tour and have been a regular customer of Murray's Cheese Shop for years now thanks to your great tour. One other thing....we noticed another tour making it's way around, but there were many more people on it. Not good! Too bad for those people!!!!!! Thanks for a great tour.

I appreciated getting to know the neighborhood, history and sampling some of the amazing food. I do feel like I could return and navigate the neighborhood and revisit several of the restaurants and markets. It was a nice combination of walking, sitting and listening. The guide was a pastry chef which really added to the tour. She was familiar with the area and knew many people on the street and in the restaurants/bakeries. Nest time I'm in New York, I plan to go on another neighborhood food tour and may enjoy it even more knowing what to expect.

This is the second food tour we've done with this company. 5 stars all the way! This time our tour guide was Cindy and she was very enthusiastic, educated and fun to be around. Gave random facts about the neighborhood and buildings surrounding us as well as history with the places we tried. The walking didn't seem too bad since we were stayed around the same area and it seemed like we only went around 5-7 blocks. Defintely a tour to try to get a feel for the neighborhood and history of the Village. There wasn't anything on the tour I didn't like. The tours are maximum 16 people so it's a pretty good size group of people where you don't feel you are just being lectured at but you are having a real conversation with someone. Wear good walking shoes - they will provide 1 bottle of water, but warning, the first few tastings are carb overload, so you might want to grab an extra bottle of water.

My husband and I have been to NYC several times and love everything about the Big Apple. On our most recent visit we wanted to do something a bit different as we have exhausted all the usual tourist traps. The food tour was the perfect thing for us as not only did we sample some local fayre but we learnt loads about Greenwich Village thanks to our enthusiastic guide Cindy. The tour was a real highlight of our holiday and we would recommend it to anyone who loves their food and a great bit of local trivia!

Our guide Cindy was FANTASTIC! Her enthusiasm was brilliant and she made the tour! The locations were wonderful and the recommendations of other restaurants in the area was brilliant as I then visited them on my own accord. This is something I will recommend to all, and look forward to doing another neighbourhood on my next visit.
