Not only was there a good mix of food samples, it was the right combination of walking and learning about the neighborhood.

I went on my own on the Greenwich Village tour and I felt so comfortable and welcomed by our tour guide Marie and the others on the tour. Marie is a worth of knowledge and so passionate about the area her enthusiasm for the local businesses is amazing. I actually went back to Greenwich a number of times while I stayed in New York and the restaurants she recommended were amazing! What you experience and learn on this tour are things you couldn't possibly find on your own if you're not a local. It also is a great foundation to learn to experience the area further.

Barri our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The food choices were a bit too heavily weighted on breads, pizza, and italian selections. But all in all the quality of the food was impressive and the historical facts presented were most impressive. Did the Central Village Soho tour two days before and found it to be much better in terms of variety of foods offered and variety of ethnic options offered (indian, cuban, italian etc) If you want to experience the "real" NYC you need to do one of these tours. You will learn about eateries that you would normally pass by. Eat where the locals eat and really feel a part of the city. Soak up the culture. We went back for dinner at a restaurant that was highlighted on the tour and it exceeded our expecations-some of the freshest food we have eaten. These tours are the real deal. You must try it!!!

I have gone on the tour twice--the first time I went with my daughters and enjoyed it so much that I encouraged my husband to go when we visited New Your again. My guides both times--Barrie (sp?) and Sephra were outstanding. I enjoyed both the food and historic part of it. I did a similar tour in Boston, but this was 1 hour longer and the amount of food we received was substantially more. All the food was delicious. I liked it that the food reflected the neighborhood. Also, we received some tips about restaurants that we returned to that although not in any of the books, were gems. Stopping at the wine bar midpoint provided a good rest. This tour we stopped at Palma's for a food tasting which we did not do the first time and it was fantastic. I liked going to Palma's because it was a restaurant and added something different in addition to the shops we stopped in. Thanks for a great experience.

We had a delightful and enthusiastic tour guide (Kurt) for our tour of Greenwich Village. The amount of food that was served was very generous and all the food establishments seemed pleased to be a part of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour and look forward to taking a tour of another neighborhood in the future.

The tour guide was efficient, well informed and very professional. She judged the group very well and paced the tour to suit their needs. We learned a lot about the history of New York as well as Greenwich Village. The food was always produced very quickly so there was little 'hanging around'. While it was great to try two different kinds of pizza it would have been good to have a little more variety - we really loved the risotto at the modern Italian restaurant. Overall a great experience.
