Yummy food and a fabulous guide (Kurt). Kurt learned all of our names within minutes and as he was talking non-stop during the tour, used all of our names correctly. He knew a lot about the foods we were eating, the restaurants and shops and the area as well. He made the three hours fly by! It poured rain for part of the tour, but that didn't seem to bother anyone - even Kurt when he was splashed by a passing truck. The tour was fabulous and I would recommend it highly. I am a vegetarian and had no problems with any of the eight (!) food types offered on the tour. I would do this again! |

I was pleassantly surprised with the content of the tour.Did not know there would be so much to know about this area.
The explanation was very interesting and our tour guide was very good too.
We had a LOTT to eat--please provide an option of taking the samplings packed in a bag .Cannot eat everything on the trip.
Dont lessen the quantity though :)
Also would have loved the tour in the evening.I understand that thats peak time but well one can wish right!
Keep up the good work!
Suggestion--There should be some oppurtunities for a photo op--like maybe a group photo or announcements like''ok I can take your photos here if you like' etc
Our tour guide was very helpful but clicking seemed to be an intrusion.Im from far away so photographs is the main thing ! |

I have been going to NYC for over 30 years and I learned more about Greenwich Village on this tour than I have ever learned on a NYC tour. We loved the whole thing. The guide was delightful, knowledgable and very thorough. I wil come back and do other tours in the future and would highly recommend this to others,
Food choices were varied and quite adequately filling...again, wonderful! |

The tour was a lot of fun. I took my husband and my dad and we had a blast walking around sampling foods. I live about an hour from NYC and I often only end up doing the tourist attractions with family and friends. It was great to go to the Village, get away from the crowds and enjoy authentic foods and culture. Highly recommended! |

My daughter (age 21) and I went on a Sunday noon food tour of Greenwich Village. We both enjoyed the tour immensely. The selection of restaurants were varied and delicious. The day we took the tour was unusually warm for NYC, but our tour guide had a selection of places that we could stop in and cool off. Our tour guide was the best! She knew many interesting facts about the architecture, the local neighborhood, history of the Village, and the restaurants. I can't say enough about our guide, she engaged everyone in the group and had us all interacting. My older daughter and her boyfriend took this same tour a couple of months earlier, and both loved it. From my daughters description, she had a different tour guide, but praised her as well. I believe they do an excellent job, and I would take their food tour again. |

We really enjoyed the tour even though it was really hot out! Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our kids really liked the food , my husband and I thought it was soso. But what really made it fun was learning the history of Greenwich village and learning a lot of new things. The free gelato coupon at the end was the best and we all became fans of something new! |

The tour leader was excellent and knowledgeable about the subject matter. I did not like that several places, where there was food tasting, was done on the street, in front of the establishment, rather than inside. The final stop on the store, Rocco's Bakery, the leader brought out a box of canolis. She should have brought us inside and told us about the bakery's history and specialties. I also did not like that several of the locations for the tour were closed because it was Sunday in the Summer. One of the substitutes, the Olive Oil store, was excellent. However, the other, "Po's", where were were served food while standing in the hot sun was not a good idea. Why would I go back to "Pos" without seeing the inside. Maybe they should not do the tour on a Sunday if there are not good substitutes. I also did not like that the food establishments were uninvolved in the tour. The best stop on the tour was the Olive Oil place because the owner or employee of the store took the time to tell us about her product. She was great!!! |

On this tour, you taste great samples of food which opens your eyes to a host of small restaurtants. It was fun tasting all the foods. The streets in the area were full of so much culture and I felt like I wasn't even in NYC but rather a smaller area. The tour had interesting facts provided by our well-spoken tour guide. I would go on another tour to explore another part of the city. I already recommended this tour to my college-age niece and her boyfriend. |

This tour is fantastic. Our guide provided a great overview of the history of the area along with the evolution of the eating scene and the restaurant culture. The walking was managable, and the food definitely gave us a great sense of where to eat in the area. (In fact, we returned to Bleecker St. the next day just to revisit some of the eateries we'd tried on the tour!) The walk through the residential areas was fascinating and enjoyable. We learned a lot about how the area changed over the years.
If I had to be critical, I'd point out two things for consideration, neither of which would deter me from doing the tour again or offering an enthusiastic recommendation. Foremost, we do a lot of standing in place, both for information and tasting. This can be harder than walking if you are elderly, traveling with kids or pregnant. We only sat in one of the eateries while eating, the rest was standing in a cluster on the sidewalk or around tables that we couldn't really sit in. Secondly, the tasting menu was very light on the meat. Of the 8 places we visited, we had meat of some form in 2. For example, our visit to an actual Italian restaurant was to try a vegetable salad - nice, but not what you think of as New York Italian food. Just give me a piece of meatball or something!
That said, it was still a wonderful experience that we have talked about many times since our visit. Enjoy! |
