Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

This was one of the highlights of our trip to NY! We will definitely book another Foods of New York tour on our next trip! Our guide, Heather, was adorable and shared so much information with us about the history and culture of the Village! It was a wonderful and fun way to learn all about Greenwich Village from an "insider". Heather also had lots of suggestions for places to come back to on our own. She kept all of us interested and was never boring! The food was wonderful....it was all unique and tasty treats, and there was plenty of it! All of the places we visited were ready and waiting for us. I only wish we could have taken some of everything home with us! I would suggest that you not eat too much before you go because there was plenty to eat and no need for lunch afterward. As a tourist on your own, you could never experience all these fabulous restaurants, and learn so much about Greenwich Village... especially in just a few short hours! We loved it!!

We all loved this tour. It was something we've been wanting to do for years and it was well worth it. Not only did we discover fantastic shops that we went back to for some take home delights/foodie souvenirs but we also ate enough that it was a full lunch. What I loved most was the extra info we discovered about 'The Village', who owns which house, where the famous people hang out, some history of New York - - couldn't beat it. It was drizzly at the start of the tour but that didn't damper our spirits or appetites - I say, Do It!

The weather was the pits... cold, blustery with some sleet! And despite the weather conditions, the experience was excellent! I hate wasting my money and my palate on uninspiring food. And many of the places we went to I might have walked right past. But, WOW! Each one was a gem. It's thrilling to have the guesswork taken out of finding a great place to eat. And our tour guide (Barri) was articulate and knowledgeable so the historical aspect rounded out the experience very nicely. I know I will be signing up to take out-of-towners in the future, but for now I know exactly where to go on my own. I'd recommend this to anyone. Thanks! The idea is inspired!!

I would recommend the Grenwich Village food tour. We all enjoyed learning about the community, history of the shops and businesses and the artistic history of the community that you wouldn't just find out if you go by yourself. Also the food at all of the shops was amazing. Our tour guide was very informative and made the tour interesting. Thanks for a great tour and will definitely try another one the next time we come to the city.

My husband and I live in NJ and brought our friends visiting from Atlanta. We thoroughly enjoyed Marie and the whole Greenwich food and cultural experience. Marie was very warm and friendly and very knowledgeable throughout all aspects of the tour. She knows her stuff, but we could tell she also loves what she does and has a keen interest in the history of the Village. We visited a good variety of places and she paced the group perfectly along the way. Kuddos to her for handling a larger group of 18 that day. The staff at the places we visited was very welcoming too. We really liked that we could go back and get a discount at the venues we visited that day, or use the coupons another time. Fun visiting new restaurant opportunities while listening to some of the history of the area and specific locations. Definitely will revisit at least two of the restaurants and another we passed and discussed as their customers! Sephra (sp?), our guide, was an added treat! She was informative, enthusiastic, and very "New Yorkie" (a good thing). We will consider other tours Zerve provides...both in NY and places like Chicago where our son lives.

Want to thank Kerry Ann for making our tour sooo enjoyable . My friends were skeptical about the tour , but changed their minds after very quickly !!! We all really had a WONDERFUL time. Our group of 5 friends thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Marie! She is a wealth of information and such a delight. The food establishments were varied and samplings were delicious and well proportioned.This was my 5th tour with Foods of NY and I will continue to be a patron.

Fun tour of the village with tastings at several of the restaurants. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and restaurants. We had Maria! We did the 11:00 tour, we were very happy with our choice as the streets where more crowded later on. We are looking forward to trying one of the other tours on our next visit. I would not recommend this for children or teens. Walking is at a pace even older person could handle and lots of time to rest. We were a group of three friends who come to NY yearly and this was enjoyed by all. We did not need lunch after the tour but stayed and had warm drinks at Rocco's which was the perfect finish to a nice afternoon.

the tour guide had a wealth of knowledge about the culture of the village.I liked the fact that all the restaurants were in the same location.I came back with knowing a lot about the architect of the buildings in the village.Food tasting was amazing.I would recommend this tour.
