Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

I really enjoyed my tour of Greenwhich Village. Our tour guide was good value and made the experience fun and informative. I took the tour on a recommendation and I will do the same. I was pleased I took the tour on my first day, alone, in NYC and would suggest to others, to do the same, as it gave me an insight into the area and places to return for meals at a later date.

This tour was recommended by a friend who had done it last fall, and the rec was right on point. The food was fabulous, the tour guide (Michael) was witty and insightful and definitely had a feel for history and the modern personalities in the neighborhood. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone interested in food, or anyone just looking to unlock a few secrets of the Village.

We were a combo of locals and out of towners with a knowledge of the city, but we learnt things we definetly did not know beforehand. The guide had great anecdotes that totally added to the walk, the food was very good, well paced as was the walk and the variety of food was perfect. I would highly recommend the walk to New Yorkers as well as visitors.

My daughter and I had a great time on our tour with Heather. The food samplings were all interesting and tasty and some great information was given about the area. A lot of information was provided...even about places where we weren't able to sample. My daughter, who lives in NYC, now has some thoughts on places to go back and try!

We have been to NYC several times and never experienced Greenwich Village like this. We had a great time. Cindy was funny, thoughtful, energetic and full of information. I was impressed with how accomodating she was with one couple who had a baby. She made sure they always had somewhere to put the stroller and never acted put out. I loved that we got to experience the feel of the neighborhood, because Cindy is a local and she knows "everyone". My husband especially liked the history lesson. The food is great and well thought out. You get to taste some things you may have never tried before, but will want to try again. We were so impressed with one restaurant, we had dinner there that night! We like the best of the best and in our opinion this is the best of it's kind. Can't wait to try a different tour on our next visit!!

My husband and I enjoyed this so much - Michael was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide and kept us entertained. The food was delicious and just enough. Personally,I didn't care for the Centro tasting,which was a lamb dish and I thought it was rather bland,but my husband loved it. Loved hearing the history of the neighborhood and the buildings around it,and it was well worth the time and money.

Our guide was very knowledgable and gave a lot of color when touring the neighborhood. The tastings were plentiful and delicious. I live in New York but learned things I didn't know. My boyfriend and his 13 year old daughter also had a great time. They are European and it was interesting to see/taste/hear about the European influences. Highly recommended for all ages.

On 12/04/05, my wife and I traveled to NYC as we have many times before. She happened to see this tour on the Internet, so we gave it a try. I must say, it was pretty good! Michael, the tour guide is from the area, so he knew the spots like the back of his hand and was always smiling and upbeat (even on a cold, rainy/sleeting day)! Great little tips, interesting history, even if you have been to the city before. He really did a nice job, but give yourself the full three hours. You will enjoy yourself for sure! We are looking forward to the next tour down in Chelsea Market! The food was very good as well, as you will try many different tastes of this area. A + recommended! I thought too many of these feedbacks might be bogus, but they really aren't!

My husband and I absolutely loved the tour. It was a great way to learn more about the village while sampling some amazing food. Our tour guide was fun and very knowledgeable. Not to mention the portion sizes were huge. We were stuffed after we stopped at eight restaurants. In my opinion this is a must for all travelers!

We enjoyed every thing about the tour. Our tour guide, Curt, was outstanding and alot of fun.
