Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

After taking the tour which was recommended by a friend, i was pleasantly surprised to find that the tour guide (Ed) was indeed local and brought up in NYC. He was a font of knowledge on all aspects of the tour, including the food, the history of the area, the culture, and basically a really good companion for the three hours. The pace was just right and the conversation fascinating. I would highly recommend that the tour is taken early on in your visit to New York; it gives an insight of the things you can expect. Also, if you take my advise - stay downtown, it's far more alive at night with a much more varied list of things to do other than the usual Times Square thing...!!!

We enjoyed the tour through Greenwich Village. No running or "American" hurry - upping but relaxed. A lot of valuable information about history en present time - great food. Next time we visit New York we'll try another district.

I really enjoied this tour because is different from the others of New York, usually guides show the most corwded part of new york. This tour offer tou the opportunity to see how life is in this nieghbourhood, how people live, the curiosity of the area, and the specific facts and history about the houses in greenwich village, which is a more peacfull place where to spend some hours in the city. The samples tested were very good and it's a different way to discover a nieghbourhood. I suggest to everybody to do it!

My boyfriend and I took the Greenwich Village Culinary Walking Tour and loved it - our guide was friendly, witty and a long-term resident of the 'nabe so knew all about its Bohemian history and hidden gems. We learned a lot, and had many delicious snacks - and had so many restaurant recommendations that we went back to Greenwich Village to eat for the following four nights of our stay! Highly recommended.

Our tour guide, Cindy, was friendly, funny and informative and made the difference between a run of the mill type tour and a most excellent tour. We found the historical information about the Village most interesting and the food was delicious. Most importantly the tour was not the commercialized type ending up in a gift shop and provided a good insight into the character of the neighborhood. Great value for the fee paid.
