Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

This was a wonderful experience. My friend and I broke from the bus group to take this tour and we had the best experience of all. Learned so much about Greenwich Village of old and present and about New York City. Our tour guide, Cindy Leiter, was great. The food was fantastic and after the tour was over we settled in for drinks and rest. Rejuvenated again, we returned to many of the stores to purchase food we had sampled on the tour. Our bagged lunch on the bus trip home was the envy of everyone. Saugage from Fiaccia, Cheese and Peperdews from Murrays, Bread from Amy's and fruit tarts from Bruno's. I now feel confident to return on my own to explore and experience more of the shops in Greenwich Village. Thank you.

We enjoyed the food, it was very good. The length of the tour was just right. We learned quite a bit about the neighborhood, the people that lived there and the ones that still work in the area. Our tour guide was very nice, knowledgable and chearful. We had a great time!

I think this is the best organized activity I have done while visiting a city. For the record, I´m an avid traveler and hate organized tours. The guide was so much fun, she seemed very knowledgeable about the food and the neighborhood, but was also open to give any suggestions about the city. The people in the neighborhood seemed to know her and she (Sephra) managed to integrate the people in the group. Time management was also perfect and the food was DELICIOUS. What I loved about this tour was that, contrary to other similar ones that I have taken, she focused on the history and little details of the neighborhood that were remarkable and made us dream!

We really enjoyed this tour. The combination of the food and the culture was a very nice mix. The food choices were excellent and we liked that that the tour guide recommended other restaurants in the area. In fact, we went back to one of these restaurants for dinner and it was very good. So the recommendation was worth the trip back. The food choices were excellent and the pace that we ate was good so that we weren't eating the food one right after the other. The portion size was also great. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York.

The tour with Christian was fantastic!!! He was personable, passionate about NY and engaging. The level of information was exceptional -- we learned about the history of the neighborhood and its architecture, sampled lots of delicious foods, walked in areas that only local residents would know about. I have been to NYC many times and I would have to rate this as one of the most memorable!!!

Heather, our guide for our adventure was so knowledgeable about the neighborhood and restaurants. She was always so gracious and concerned about our safety. Making sure everyone had a fair share of the food tastings. Just a great time was had by all.

Our guide Barry made the tour fun with her informative comments and questions to the group members. The historical part of the tour really held my interest, and the places we stopped for tastings had food ready for us pretty much right away. Everything was delicious. This was my very first tour ever, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Later in the afternoon, I headed out again to some of the places we were taken to earlier. Many thanks for a great experience. We had a great time on our tour. We live 20 miles from NYC but had never done a tour of this nature. I highly recommend it. It was a great way to see NYC in a new light and learn some of the facts that you don't find in the tour guides. Loved it can't wait to sign up for another one!
