I have taken the Greenwhich Village Food Tour before, and decided to take my Son and future bride over Easter Weekend because I enjoyed it so much before. We had a GREAT time. Even though this was a repeat -- we went to different places so it made the whole tour fresh and new. Our leader was a riot!! The people we toured with were so much fun and we had lots of great food. My Son had recently moved to NYC and this was a great introduction to this area. He and his fiancee are looking forward to going back to many of the restaurants we visited. I have now attended the Greenwhich tour twice and teh Chelsea Tour once and look forward to trying the others next time I visit NYC. |

Pros - tour guide was great and had NYC sense of humor, perfect. Really got into some details of the neighborhood, which was nice after running all over the city and hitting the highlights. Had two children with us: preteen and teen and they tried all the food.
Cons - after being on our feet all week, the tour was a lot of standing and only a couple of places to sit. Tour is 3 hours and it took a toll on the lower back. For the price, I would have expected more food stops. Lastly, the guide plugged MANY restaurants that we did NOT stop to have food. I guess the restaurants participate by putting in a coupon for dinner. After about seven of these plugs, it felt a bit like a being a captive audience in a time share sales pitch. UGH. |

THANK YOU so much to Heather and Foods of NY for a great introduction to your city. We arrived at 8:30a and joined the tour at 12:30p the same day. Heather was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. The stops were timed perfectly and the shops were prepared for us. We were traveling with an 11-year old and she enjoyed the tour. We enjoyed one of the stops so much, we went back and booked dinner reservations for Monday evening. We wanted to book another tour for later in the week, but all other options were booked. Will certainly look to Foods of NY when we return to NYC for another visit. THANKS!!! |

My husband and I really enjoyed the Greenwich Village food tour. We sampled foods at a number of different shops/restaurants and had fun listening to our tour guide tell stories and fun facts about the area. I live locally, so this tour definitely helped me feel more comfortable with the neighborhood and I found some "gems" that I want to go back to. Only thing I would change is the length. The tour ran a little over 3 hours. 2 1/2 would have been perfect. Overall I would recommend to anyone who is looking to explore this area of Manhattan and sample the local cuisine! |

What a wonderful way to spend three hours in New York getting to know more about Greenwich Village. We learned a lot about history, architecture, and, best of all, food. The trip was an easy walk, which was punctuated with yummy tastes from the shops in the area. We would highly recommend this tour, especially if Amy is your guide. |

We have already been back to the cafe (the one with poetry and music in the basement) on Easter Sunday on Cornelia St. We had hummus, a hamburger and a steak. And then cafe latte and cappucino. All was so excellent that we will go back tomorrow on Tuesday to have excactly the same. That will be our way to say goodbye to NY for this time.
