Fantastic! Cindy is the Best!

On a whirlwind weekend in New York City, we ended with Cindy's tour of Greenwich Village and we were very impressed! We started with pizza and canolis, has risotto and wine, cheeses and more! Our guide's personal stories about the restaurants, shops and their owners, locals in the neighborhood and her overall pizzazz really packed a punch. We were never bored, and even though we walked in a group of 16 I didn't feel that we were gawkers or being gawked at. I had found this tour site by random internet searching and we waited until we arrived to decide Yes or No. Luckily we decided just in time because they do fill up and we had to go right from the tour end (by way of a shoe shop ;D) to the hotel and then to the airport. It was absolutely worth the money, we were stuffed by the end. They left plenty of time to rest and take photos when you wanted. And best of all! On the Delta in-flight magazine on the flight home, some Bravo TV chef was talking about his favorite neighborhoods in an article, and wouldn't you know it... Greenwich Village. Murray's Cheese Shop. That pork store. We were JUST there and had tastings! Worth it worth it worth it!!

Excellent guide who not only shared information and knowledge of local restaurants, bars, bakeries etc. she also went into a lot of interesting detail on the neighborhood and architecture. Food was amazing and the three hours flew by. Definitely worth the money and time. Plus, they provide a guide of the area and information on all of the stores and restaurants so you can explore more on your own after.

Boring Commercial

The five of us went on this trip because we heard all the great reviews but were sorely disappointed. Food was good -- not great. Tour guide was OK but didn't know very much and talked mostly about restaurants like she was doing a commercial for them. Buy a Zagats and save money.

We enjoyed the thorough explanation that our guide Barri presented enthusiastically about the history, architecture and the local tasting of different cuisine. I highly recommend this tour :)))

I like to be surprised,.....but NOT to be disapointed. This tour was a great surprise! Our tour guide, Sephara, was awesome! Funny, knowledgeable and quick witted ,she kept us on our toes. There is no doubt I will see her with her own show on The Food Network. The food was interesting....rice balls?? Never had one....want to find out how to make them!! Little cannolis? Perfect size. Mushroom risotto? Hmmmm.....I want to learn that recipe too. We had a perfect day....good weather....good tour guide ...good food....see you in the spring! John L....., Media , PA

Whether you are interested in Food, Culture or history of the neighborhood, this tour had it all. I would recommend Foods of New York tours to anyone I know that visits NYC. It was well organized, informative and just a lot of fun. Also, the food we were served was delicious and fresh out of the oven. I look forward to trying their other Food tours of China town and Chelsea market.

Great way to see NYC

This tour was recommended to me by a friend and turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. I went with my daughter, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law & niece (ages 19-73) and it was a great activity for all involved. It gave us lots of time together & was a great way to see a part of NYC we would not have on our own. It helped that it was a clear, sunny & warm November afternoon, but the pace was good and the food was better. I just wish we had done it on the first day of our visit, rather than the last, so we could go back and have a full meal at some of the places.

New Insight Into NYC

Its always nice to come to Manhattan and discover places you didn't know about, especially new, reasonably-priced restaurants to try and food purveyors to patronize. Our experience was enjoyable and we will probably try another one of your tours.

Great idea but was disappointed in the execution

We had really been looking forward to our tour based on a great experience in Chicago. Several things happened that left us disappointed and feeling like we'd wasted our money and a half day of our limited time in NY: Our group was too big (17 adults) so we could not enter many of the food venues...samples were brought out to us on the sidewalk and were constantly having to be conscious about blocking the sidewalk; our guide tended to focus on whether we'd need reservations to eat at a place, or how popular it was in the neighbourhood (she knew b/c the company has done great research we were assured). This information is not relevant to most tourists; we stopped mostly at restaurants vs specialty food stores where we might have learned from the proprietor about different cheeses/teas/breads (we did go into a tea shop but were served cashews and the proprietor did not say a word); there was very little historical or cultural information shared. Overall it was a big disappointment.
