Our guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Tour provided a lot of suggestions for places to eat later. Samples of pizza, ice cream, cookies, and vegetarian oriental were ample. Also, sampled a variety of cheese at the end.
Would recommend for anyone looking for an overview and a place to eat later in the village; not a detailed tour. |

My sister and I met in New York. She's from New Zealand and I am from Wilmington NC. The weather was perfect, the group we were on the tour with was fun and it is a tour we will never forget. Our tour guide was so funny and full of tons of interesting information that gave us an insight not only to the foods of NY but to the history and culture of NY. I would recommend this tour to anyone. It was our favorite part of our trip to NY! |

The Greenwich Village Cultural and Food Tour was excellent. I highly recommend this to those looking for a casual, fun, and informative date with Greenwich Village (also known as West Village). Curt, the tour guide was very nice, entertaining, personable, a true expert with the history, cultural changes, and the food & restaurant recommendations. It was just a joy to hear him speak and share his perspective, stories, updates, and news with the Village. I felt like I belonged in Greenwich Village and nicely respected like the proverbial neighbor next door. The food offered was outstanding and there are many to sample from, it is well worth your time. If you want to try something truly extraordinary, different, and unique to New York and the Village with such good facts, vast knowledge, and enlightening discoveries ... then I encourage you to set aside three hours of your time, the next time you visit NYC for the day. Come with an appetite and you will be full when you conclude your tour. The tour prices are very reasonable, complete with a very knowledgable tour guide and stories shared, excellent foods, sweets, smiles and great memories! Curt did an outstanding job and made my Greenwich Village tour very worthwhile and fun. I'm very glad I did this and am looking forward to another Food and Cultural tour with the neighboring areas of Greenwich Village and this wonderful company. Just do it and you'll be glad you did it! ~ Scott. |

Dave was the tour guide. He was great. He really seems to have a handle on the area. He was more than good, he was great. He took the time to tell us everything about the restaurants, history etc. My wife and I could not have asked for more. My father and grandparents are from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, but this tour was fantastic. We consider ourselves foodies and the tour was great. If we were not foodies it still would have been great. My thanks to Dave for a great tour and being a professional in every sense. |

The tour is well-planned, easily walkable with plenty of sitting-to-eat breaks (I'm 20 weeks pregnant, and I never felt outpaced), and most importantly delicious food! The tour sampled 7 outstanding local establishments, while highlighting others that we might also like to enjoy (and many in my group did immediately go try the extra choices when the tour was over). We got a wonderful sense of the West Village--its character, history, gossip, and fabulous foods! A very, very special tour. I can't recommend it enough. |

I brought 15 family members to NYC for my brothers 50th b'day. Our guide Sephara was well suited for this group from NJ....She wittily guided us through an intimate tour of the Village. My biggest surprise and pleasure was going inside the "Palma". I was worried this tour was going to be done from the sidewalk only..but the Palma restaurant was a stunning, sensory experience....this changed the whole mood of the tour....We all enjoyed the tour and the food we tasted was outstanding...I would only recommend a palate cleansing stop at the intermission....Well done Foods of NY and Zerve...Cris G, Morris Plains, NJ |

Take a step back in time, sample the "best of New York," and learn the secrets that even New Yorker's don't know. Our guide was delightful. I will certainly visit these establishments again! |

I've lived in NJ my entire life, but the most I've ever done in the Village was come in, maybe eat at one place, and then leave. This opened my eyes to parts I've never seen and would have never known to stroll through. I felt like I was in a small historic town far away.
Also, with SO many places to eat in NYC, choosing one is difficult, and often after spending so much time choosing one, does not live up to expectations. Taking this tour I learned about the places where we tasted, as well as many other places to add to the list as well. It's nice to learn about the history of the place, the history of the chef, and the philosophy of the restaurant. No online reviews ever give that much information.
Most importantly, tasting the food was excellent. There was no delay, and the eating was spaced out perfectly. It varied from pizza to dessert to appetizer, etc.... so it was never too much of one thing. The food was superb, and the portions generous. I am a hungry person and I left the tour feeling satisfied - not hungry, not full: just right.
Our tour guide was bright and friendly and full of excitement and personal experiences. Moving large groups of people through the streets and stopping and listening went smoother than I ever thought possible. Never did we go too fast, too slow, and never could we not hear her or get close enough.
Overall - I'd recommend this to everyone who comes to NYC - it's more than you'll ever learn even if you are local, and it's a great alternative to the touristy midtown features for tourists. And best of all, you don't go hungry! |
