Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

I was pleasantly surprised by this tour. Along with interesting and wonderful tastings our guide Barry told us about the history and architecture of the neighborhood. I didn't think to bring my camera to a food tour, so I had to resort to using my phone camera until the battery died. We had a complete meal, in stages, with two wonderful desserts. We visited not only restaurants, but a spice store, cheese shop, meat market and pastry shop. Although we didn't taste anything at Cornelia's, it was nice to visit the stage room downstairs. Quite a bit of history. I highly recommend the tour as a great way to get to know Greenwhich Village and the restaurants around Bleeker Street. I will be back with family and a camera next time.

Loved the tour. Our guide leader -- Barrie was terrific and very knowledgeable about the Greenwich Villiage area. Loved the personal stories and suggestions for further exploration of the area. We decided to return to the area later on in the week and go to one of the recommended restaurants -- absolutely fabulous and reasonable. I would highly recommend this to my colleagues and friends.

The tour guide knew so many of the fine details about the area that was covered in the tour that I looked forward to each of the stops to hear what she had to say. The shops and restaurants where we had samples of food were extremely accommodating, and the food itself was delicious. I went back the next day and used many of the coupons that were provided in the tour handout to buy quite a few food items. I will book another tour of a different part of the city on my next visit.

Our guide was good fun and very interesting. The food was excellent and we were full for hours afterwards. It was nice to learn some of the history about Greenwich and pick up some tips on good places to go for food and drink during the rest of our stay in New York. We were well looked after and I would definitely recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful tour. We enjoyed the mix of history and food. We thought the selection of tastings was very nice. Each of us did think that Murrays could be a better tasting. We were a bit disappointed with the choice of cheeses that we got to taste there. Overall we loved it all and would return for the additional tours when we can. It was so nice that the guide was so knowledgable and nice. The kids also had a nice time. Well worth the money spent. As an aside, we drove into NYC and parked in a garage right in Greenwich Village. Driving in and out was no problem at all.

I enthusiastically recommend this tour! I booked it based on the glowing reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint. Our guide, Cindy, was very, very knowledgeable, personable, funny and a joy to spend time with. I had read prior to the tour that the food tastings were sufficient for a meal. That was an understatement!!! I easily ate enough food for two meals. Later that night, I was able to take my friend back to many of the locations on the tour because I was so excited about what I had learned and tasted. In a nutshell, you won't be disappointed!

Two days after the tour, we made reservations to one of the recommended restaurants. (Cornelia Street Cafe) It was everything and more as promised. We're already planning another tour!
