I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. A lot of the history of Greenwich Village is provided, along with information about the restaurants themselves and the food that's served. My only slight caveat is that there is quite a bit more time spent outside than one might expect on a restaurant tour, and on steamy summer days that might be something to keep in mind before signing up. |

We (2 friends) did the 3 hour walking tour of greenwich village. The weather was very hot and humid but there were plenty of opportunities to buy water and to stop at a bathroom. All ages were present on the leisurely tour . The foods sampled were excellent. The guide had some interesting historic notes about the area.
This was a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours wandering around the village (off the grid system). We would recommend to our fellow Irish tourists. |

The first thing that I suggested my younger son do in Manhattan next month when he visits my older son there is the Greenwich Village Food Tour. The tour has the perfect combination of historical and literary references, pop culture and delicious food! I can see why it was sold out for the times we had initially intended to attend; I'm glad we were able to make the tour! Our guide, Barri, was excellent - -knowledgeable and fun!

I liked the food and unique streets and histories for the area. Celebrities and stories that have occurred are also very interesting. I won't have known so much about Greenwich Village, and thats make the place more interesting. I 'll definity revisit.. |

Our guide was kind, polite, enthusiastic and knowledgible about Grenwich Village.
The information booklt was very much appreciated and helpful.
I very much appreciated the actual food insights from the chef/manager of the Olive Oil shop. I wanted to hear more from other food shop owner/managers.
People, like me, who take such tours love to learn about food, this should be the focus, not all of the Village trivia, although this is intereasting to a point.
I would have wished for a greater variety of foods to sample or places that fairly unique to NYC such as Cuban/Chinese restaurants.
My two cents for now... |

The food was tasty the guide was friendly and the tour was fascinating.
It was the perfect combination of things - history of the neighbourhood, current information on where to eat and shop, and a few hidden gems disclosed as well.
I would recommend this tour for anyone looking to learn a little more about Greenwich Village.
Be warned though there is no need to eat beforehand as you will soon fill up on this tour. |
