Definately be hungry when you arrive.
Make sure this is one of the first things you do on your tripto new york because guaranteed you'll want to come back to some of the restaurants and bars by yourselves.

Our guide, Susan, was extremely knowledgable not only about the Village and all it has to offer, but the city as a whole.
I'd recommend this tour be taken at the beginning of a vacation in the city, as I took it at the end and was unable to visit any of the cafes, bars and restaurants recommended to us. Still, it's an excuse to plan another trip!
This tour proved to me that there's more to NYC then Midtown and the big sites which so many tourists stick to. I'd certainly recommend this tour to visitors, although I think it may be unsuitable for children. |

My girlfriend and I went on this tour as a shared Birthday present for each other. Both of us are from New York. Just when you think you know everything about the city, you don’t. I truly enjoyed this present. It was a beautiful picture perfect day, the day after the 3rd year Anniversary of 9/11 so the city was still in a somber mood from the previous day. Our guide Michael was the perfect person to cheer us up. His 20+ years living in the city and his wealth of knowledge about the City truly made him passionate about his job. His attention to detail about the neighborhood surpassed even my trivial pursuit knowledge of Greenwich Village. I visited the oldest Speakeasy in NYC and I got to see the official “Friends” building. We visited 7 restaurants on the walking tour. Each tasting was better than the next. Don’t even think about eating afterward, I was beyond stuffed after all the tastings. I tasted everything from pastries to rice balls to chocolate to falafel. Wear comfy shoes and bring a hearty appetite. This tour was truly essence of what New York is all about. |

Good blend of talk and food. The guide seemed to know everyone in the area -- added to the very at-home feel of the event. My mom loved it! -- She wants to take everyone on this tour. |

We would recommend it to ANYone. Michael, our tour guide, was fantastic! We packed a lot of activities during our 5-day stay, and the tour was one of the highlights of our NYC trip. Our NYC friend also indicated she would recommend it to others. In fact, she plans to take the same tour again in just a couple of weeks when relatives are visiting her. |

I have already sent the link to several New Yorkers and friends who live nearby. I thought our guide Jenny was well informed, up beat and an excellent speaker. We appreciated the packet of information including the restaurants, food stores we visited and this packet also included coupons. My friends and I ate at Noi that evening and I look forward to going back. |

Outstanding tour of GV, our guide was sensational (Jennifer). We returned the next day on our own and did the same tour, eating in recommended spots. Our group VERY knowledgeable about food & wine, and we all learned alot about NY community lifestyles. We'll do it again! |

It was the best tour I have ever had. The tour guide (Eric) was truly awesome. He knew many of the neighborhood folks and was able to give some insight that was invaluable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to NY. |
