I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Heather was excellent. She did a very good job with only her second day on the job. She knew her history and facts and has a very good vibe to her that makes the walk enjoyable. Only thing that I might find wrong with this is the fact that it is not enough food like other reviewers say. The food is great but wish it was a little more. |

We had a great time, worth every penny. Not only was the food outstanding but the history of the area was an unexpected addition. The tour guide was knowledgeable about her food and the district and you could tell she enjoyed her job. I would recommend this tour to any of my friends and family of any age and gender. |

This tour was very difficult to join – it is very popular and it was truly worth the wait. I learned loads about the neighborhood, especially little tib-bips of information that I would not have known if not for coming on the tour. Found some great restaurants that we will be sure to come back and try. The Olive Oil store was an eye-opening experience and the Cheese store, I will be signing up for their Cheese 101 class. Kurt was a great guide. He was funny, energetic and informative but, what impressed me most was that he had a group of 15, and remembered all our names. Quick sign up – you will not be disappointed. |

This year my sisters in law and I met a friend of mine that lives in Astoria and we all took the Greenwich Village tour. Last year we had done the Chelsea tour and loved it. We never realized that we could have even a better time this year! The tour was great, the tour guide, Dirk, even better. He was so informative, but most of all, he was entertaining and just so darn cute. He had a great sense of humor and made every moment memorable. We have made our trip to NYC an annual event, so next year we plan to take the Soho tour. |

Knowledgable guides gave insight into the neighborhood as well as informed descriptions of the culinary opportunities that were highlights of the tour. The neighborhood (if not the tour) will be on my itinerary the next time I visit NYC. I will definitely recomment the tour to others. I look forward to full meals in a number of the restaurants that were pointed out. |

We really enjoyed the tour. I didn't realize we would be eating so much!! My daughter, who is a chef, wanted to move into Murray's Cheese Shop! It was a great time. I will certainly do another Foods of New York tour the next time I'm in town. |

Our tour guide was absolutely delightful giving a sense of history to the food and the place. The weather was perfect as was the experience. I almost wish that the tour could have been extended to include MacDougal street area towards NYU and Washington Square. |

Kurt the guide was quite the catch. He was organized, memorized every first name sucessfully from the start (I would guess there were 14 of us) and could easily engage in both personal and professonal discussions with detail and humor. The descriptions of places, history, restaurants, and selections of food were quite good.
I would recommend this to anyone --it was a great way to spend three hours and have a "grazing" style of lunch.
This tour is not wheelchair compatable. |

i knew we would eat some good munchies - and indeed we did enjoy the food. But i was completely thrilled with how much we learned and laughed. Even as a local new yorker, i saw blocks i never knew of, and learned about architecture and the history of new york. To top that off - our tour guide Kurt was just hilarious. He was so knowledgeable regarding food, it's preparation and it's presentation. But he was also a high-energy smooth-talking comedian. He knocked Leonardo and Cher, but in a tasteful sarcastic manner - so as not to offend our polite out of towners!
He was friendly and sincere with the store owners and really made us feel like insiders. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to smile and eat - whether you are from south dakota or soho.
the one thing to be aware - bring your lactaid pills if you need to - most tastings have some dairy in them and when you are in the vip room of murrays cheese shop with a small group of strangers - you don't want to make enemies with your emissions!
Great job Kurt, Foods of new york - and Zerve - for telling me about this tour when i really was calling to book a magic show! |
