| My husband and I were visiting NYC for the first time from Oregon and I was interested in the history of the Village area. This tour seemed like the perfect intro to the neighborhood. It didn't disappoint! Sepherah, our guide, was the perfect combination of funny, knowledgeable, sweet and enthusiastic. She was great!! All the food on the tour was delicious and she gave us a lot of insider scoop about the all the restaurants as she went to culinary school and is a total foodie! I loved all the food and the history of this charming, beautiful area was fascinating! I heartily recommend this tour to anyone who loves history, food and getting to know Greenwich Village on a more intimate level. I especially loved the historic areas and the stories Sepherah told about the darling buildings there. LOVED IT!! |

| We had a great time. There is so much history in Greenwich Village that we weren't aware of. The food was very good and much more than a meal! The best though was Sephorah, a really great guide. It couldn't have been any better. She is a delight! |

| My mother and I really enjoyed our tour. We fell in love with Greenwich Village. The food was awesome--just plan on a lot of starch, but it didn't ruin our enjoyment of the tour. |

| I took my daughter, daughter-in-law and niece on a "girl's trip" to New York and asked each of the young women to plan a day. My daughter-in-law chose Greenwich Village and this tour. Despite the rain, our guide Marie's knowledge and stories about the Village and the excellent food made this one of the best tours I have ever been on. We were especially fortunate to have two Village residents on the tour who tried to explain the reason people will do just about anything to live in New York. This was at Murray's during our cheese tasting (wonderful!) where we were at a table upstairs. I'm not sure the tour normally goes upstairs, but the I suspect the rain and Marie's relationship with some of the restaurant owners had given us access to areas that are not usually open to the tour during most of the day. We had a great guide!! Anyway, our great guide had gone across the street for our final dessert tasting (still raining----we're sitting----nice idea) and we got to talk to Damien (soon to be another wonderful guide---we could tell) and a young attorney about living there. I know a roundtable discussion is not the usual conclusion to this tour, but for the four of us it was just perfect. Damien even walked us over to SoHo, our next destination!
I almost forgot, this is no "snacking" tour. We were FULL when it was over and the food was incredible!
The next time I'm in New York with my husband, I'm a SO doing this tour again! |

| There is very little chance I would have found all the great food experiences on this walk on my own. The group leader was engaging and happy to talk about food and the history of the West Village. The tastings were varied and yummy and filling. The booklet our guide distributed is now put away for my next visit - I even used one of the coupons in the book right after the tour in one of the great places we visited. The time on the tour sped by - it was a thoroughly enjoyable three hours. I'm definitely doing another Foods of New York tour on my next visit. |

| Loved it! This is the "real" New York neighborhood that I wanted to see. Where real people live and work. Great food. We were stuffed when the tour was over. It was our big meal of the day. Great guide. I have recommended it to all my friends! |

| My husband and I (locals) treated my mom to the tour during her resent visit to NYC. Even in the rain, the tour was enjoyable and informative, sharing valuable information about the history of the area, and its amazing restaurants and shops. I would suggest that visitors to New York take the tour early on in their visit to allow time to return to one of the many amazing restaurants that are recommended during the tour. Also, the tastings are good sized potions and can count for a meal (btw - although its amazing, don't eat the full bread stick at Amy's Bread and save room for the additional treats!).
Thanks so much! |
