| Our tour guide Ed was the BEST! He took us through the various food stops and streets of Greenwich Village efficiently and with authority. The tour included a wonderful assortment of treats with enough time in between to truly enjoy the tastes and flavors. We had plenty of opportunity to sit for a few minutes and use restrooms along the way, which was good. My adult son was on the tour with me and was impressed with all he learned about the surrounding neighborhoods and the people who had lived in some of the houses, including Washington Irving, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Walt Disney, and Aaron Burr. Ed was well versed in local history and provided the information, both cultural and culinary, in an interesting and entertaining way. I would definitely recommend this tour as a way not only to taste various local foods but also to get into quaint neighborhoods rich in history that are off the beaten path when one visits New York City. |

| The tour was absolutely amazing and an absolute must-do for anyone! John was an incredible tour guide even though it kept raining on us. All the food was incredible and we couldn't believe all the history that was part of the tour. It was great to learn all about the neighborhood and it's rich history. The tour was the perfect mix of excellent food and interesting facts. |

| In busy Manhattan, a quiet neighborhood with culture, history, and a pace all its own. Our Greenwich Village tour was very well organized and conducted. Our guide was clearly expert in the area and loved what he was doing, making for an interesting and fun time for all in the group. About half-way through the tour was an opportunity to sit down and enjoy a cool drink with our tasting. It hit the spot and insured that we would finish without being tired.
While this is billed as a "Food Tour", it is that and so much more. With the food tasting stops, we learned about the history of the stores, restaurants, cafes, buildings, and residents of the area, past and present. The foods were excellent, freshly made, and obviously a source of pride by the providing establishment. The accompanying stories and historical notes about these and many other establishments, gave us perspective of the history and diversity of the area. Nothing serves history like being there, seeing where people lived, dined, and performed, where the city had its roots. The quiet streets past Bleecker St were fascinating, clean, and a joy to walk. What we found incredible were the many small shops and stores dispersed throughout the area, stores that you will miss if you drive and know little about if you just walk past. This was quite an "experience".
This is a tour we will take again in the future, after we explore some of the other activities provided by Food Tours. If you are visiting New York City, this is a three hour investment in time that you will never regret. It may well be the highlight of your visit. |

| The host seem to be learning the area's history and was somewhat vague about some of the stories and was unable to answer some of the group's questions.
however she was enthused about her subject. The tastings were good. |

| I have visited New York City numerous times but have never had an experience like this. You learn about food, history, and the atmosphere of Greenwich village is awesome! My guide was very knowledgable and the locals are super friendly. You do not have to be a food lover to enjoy this tour. I recommend scheduling the tour towards the beginning of your trip, so you can go back to try some of the restaurants. Trust me, after the tour you will want to!!! |
