| We had a FANTASTIC time on this tour. Both my boyfriend and I both live in New York and learned so much about Greenwich Village and now have an extensive list of new restaurants we want to try. It was raining on the day of our tour, but it did not even effect our enjoyment as the tour provided us with ponchos and we had an umbrella. |

| That was a very well run trip with lots of information from a very knowledgeable guide. (Michael??)The food stops and samplings were more than enough to be considered a substantial lunch. I would highly recommend this trip to family and friends who are in the area.
Thanks.

| The tour was great. Our guide Michael was knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining. He was almost 30 minutes late, though. But again, I think he's a great guide. Recommended for tourists and New Yorkers alike. |

| My friend and I meet in New York every few years... We've done the museums, the shows, the typical "tourist attractions". I went to New York University for grad school and thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village experience in the late 70s. Of course, I was young, working and going to school at the time and never took advantage of the many restaurants, theatre and unique shops and services.
This tour provided my friend and I an opportunity to have fun, explore the culinary treats that are abundant in this area. The price was more than reasonable, with all that was included. Our tour guide was excellent. He kept things moving, didn't linger too long, but didn't rush us either. He was very knowledgeable about the area because he had lived there for many years. His sense of humor was wonderful (don't we all need a good laugh these days?) He was warm, thoughtful and personable. He was attentive to the needs and interests of the participants and entertained us with his many "inside" stories about the characters and the legends that embodied the village. Last, but not least, the food. Oh, the food! Just the right amount, variety and of course the best quality. I ordered some olive oil from one of the shops we visited and will return to several other of the merchants when I return to NYC. Next time I hope to bring my husband on the tour, or perhaps another one of the "Food Tours". |

| Our tour guide was Michael who made the tour. He has spent many, many years in the Village, and he holds history that made the tour come alive. He was also very up-beat, enthusiastic, and fun. The locals seemed to know him and warmly greeted him as we did the tour. He took care of us so everyone was acknowledged and we knew a little about each other person on the tour. And, the food was terrific!!!!
He helped us feel very comfortable in the Village...so much so that the next morning we went back to have coffee. |

| Marie was a wonderful guide who kept us moving at a good clip, provided a vast amount of neighborhood information and served as a great food master. There were seven total tasting stops that ranged from pizza to chocolate chip cookies (still warm) to specialty meats, cheeses and my personal favorite...fried rice balls. And as if the food wouldn't be reason enough to highly recommend the tour, the historical information provided made us feel like part of the neighborhood. We even met some of the local residents who were out on the streets that added to the welcoming nature and feel throughout the entire tour.
I'm looking forward to my next trip to NYC so I can participate in one of the other Foods of NY neighborhood food tours.
Take it from a Midwest girl...you should take this tour the next time you find yourself in NYC. |
