This was a great tour. We learned a lot about Greenwich Village and tasted some great food. I can't wait to go back to the places we visited and enjoy more of what they have to offer.

Unfortunately the day we took the tour the temperature was 99 degrees with an excessive amount of humidity, which for me and our friends was very uncomfortable. Our tour guide,Heather, was pleasant and informative and with the temps so high she tried to spend a bit more time indoors, but a great deal of the tour was outside learning about the architect of the various buildings of the village. There was numerous stops along the way of food tasting. We all were hoping to taste more foods, but all in all it was informative and interesting.

Heather was very informative. It was just way too hot to be outside but that was no your fault. It was too hot for pizza and you should have some type of back up on such hot days.

If you're interested in taking an outdoor tour of great eating places and historical sites in Greenwich Village, this is the tour for you. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The pace of the tour makes it impossible to shop, which is a good thing, because you get to see more. If you want to shop, go back after the tour. You'll have more time and room to make purchases. Also, it gives you the opportunity to speak with the shop owners and get one-on-one help with shopping decisions. Use the booklet they give you. It has some great coupons. Once you take this tour, you'll have a much better understanding of the lay out of G.V. and you can tour around on your own. (Don't forget to tip your guide!)

My husband and I, along with a friend from New Jersey, took this tour together. Our guide was enthusiastic and friendly, in spite of the nearly 100-degree heat! I wish we had done this tour on our first day in NYC, instead of our last. As soon as the tour ended we had to rush to the airport, and couldn't revisit any of the spots on the tour for shopping, eating or drinking. We're already making plans for our next trip to NYC; we know we can fill an entire day in West Greenwich! And I'm going to recommend this tour for a friend who will be visiting NYC with his parents in September.

Our tour guide was wonderful. The tour was top notch.Would not want it any different. The only problem we had was the heat wave that came by NYC.My daughter was the only child in the group and he made her feel very special.I'd do it again on a cooler day.

We are so glad we booked the "Greenwich Village" food tour for our recent weekend trip to NY. Our tour guide was a knowledgeable, eccentric and lively asset to the this tour in which we made our way through the little known side streets and specialty food stores. Mike was no "amatuer". He is a 22 year local of the the Village and a native to the New York area. The passion he feels toward this rich area is shown in the detail of his colorful stories and the care in which he describes their "delicacies" (olive oil, balsamic, bread, PIZZA, thai dumplings, cheese, cookies, rice balls, etc). You will not be sorry that you took 3 hours to get to know the area as a local would (vs your typical tourist style "drive by") and you certainly will feel as if you've gotten your money's worth. Can't wait until the next trip so we can try out another tour!

My husband and I were on our second visit to New York to visit our daughter and she found out about the tour on the internet. We loved learning more about the history of the neighborhood, theatre, restaurants and homes. The weather was extremely warm but our guide did everything and more to make it a pleasant experience. We will recommend the tour to our friends.

| We chose the hottest day NYC has seen on this date in about 30 years, and walking around in the sun was brutal. Our guide, Marie, was very sensitive to our plight and provided shade, water and air-conditioning on a regular basis throughout the afternoon.
Thanks, Marie!
The food tastings were delicious; the information interesting and informative. Can't wait to come back and try some of the recommended restaurants. We had a great time, but were very grateful to climb into an air-conditioned cab and head back to our hotel afterwards.
Would recommend this walk to friends and family visiting the city. |

Our group of 3 couples had a great afternoon! It was nearly 100 degrees when we began our noon tour, but our tour guide Marie was all about "shade and hydration", and getting us into air conditioned places as much as possible. The tastings were all great (there were 8) and the neighborhood info was the best. Guides show you around, and let you know not only the history of the area, but what's happening today. A great primer so you may go back and try little places that you may never have otherwise know about, and also a way to feel more comfortable & to know your way around a little better in the area of the city that isn't "gridded" like up-town.We will be back to do more tours, and to check out some of the restaraunts in the area. Highly recommended!
