Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

Barri, our leader, was knowledgeable and fun. Food was abundant and delicious. A happy mixture of food, history and architecture. We are already looking for another tour and an opportunity to bring friends back to the Village to the shops and restaurants we visited. We want to do it all again!

A great way to see a NYC neighborhood without having to plan anything or figure out where to go. All the spots are planned for you, it's as easy as following your guide and being ready to eat! You also learn history of the neighborhood and the places you visit. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were visiting New York for the first time and a friend recommended doing a food tour and said we would love it. She was right! We had a great time trying new foods and foods that we already knew we loved, like pizza and cookies. It was great learning about the culture and history of the area, while also getting to eat great food! Each place had something unique and we loved every minute of it! Greenwich Village is a beautiful area and if you're thinking about doing this tour, don't think twice about it and do it!

I have taken this very same tour (Greenwich)five times and Chelsea once. Each time I bring a different group of friends and it just gets better and better. The tour guide is amazing, very entertaining and full of information about Greenwich and then some. This is not just about eating (which is always outstanding) but you get history and a real feel for the neighborhood. This past tour we tasted some incredible eats, a date wrapped with bacon and gorgonzola. Oh yummy! December 2012 Curt was our tour guide. Did an awesome job - knows the area, neighbors, shared some great insights and made everyone feel special. My husband and I have taken this tour four times, so that should give you an idea of how much we enjoy it! The neighborhood is wonderful, and the food on this tour is a great mix of savory and sweet. Our tour guide Ted was still in training, so he had Bert with him for support as needed, but Ted did a great job. He is very familiar with the area, and also a history/architecture buff, so it was a good combination. One of our favorite stops on the tour is a small shop called O & Co, which specializes in olive oils. Their olive oil with basil is heavenly! We always stock up when we are in town, and they will ship. I can honestly say this is my favorite tour in NYC, and I have done several. I highly recommend!!

I was bought this as a birthday gift, as it was mine, and my boyfriends first time to NY by my sister. We arrived early to be greeted by the sweetest guide, Sephra (sorry if I have spelt her name wrong). Not only was she sweet and extremely knowledgeable, she was also very very funny. The tour last just over three hours, and we ate around 10 times, which was great for myself and my bf, as we love food. Not only did we get to try lots of food from 'hot spots' in but we also got little snippets of historical knowledge, which I know we wouldn't have found out otherwise. I really recommend this tour to anyone and everyone that loves food, and history.

This is a lengthy tour so it is well worth the money. All the food was delicious, our tour guide was wonderful, and we learned so much. The tour would be a bit long for someone who is not a bit of a foodie but it seemed like everyone in our group enjoyed it. The shops and restaurants where we stopped along the way were so nice and seemed genuinely pleased to have us there. This tour made Greenwich Village our new favorite place in NYC!

My husband and I recently went on the Greenwich Village food tour. To say we had an amazing time would be an understatement. Our tour guide was so funny and knowledgeable. We laughed so much and learned more than we thought we could have. It would be a great way to begin a trip to NY to learn places and areas that you should eat at and visit more. I would recommend this to everyone!

We were hoping to come away with some interesting information about Greenwich Village and memories of good food we might like to go back and enjoy later. This is just what we got! We learned a lot about the area and it's delightful shops. The tour was well paced and tastings were filling. We were not disappointed! We've already returned to some of the businesses we visited on the tour and will likely go back again on our next NYC visit.
