Marie, our guide, made this experience very memorable. She obviously knew much about the neighborhood and the businesses there. She gave us lots of history and information in a fun and interesting way. What a special way to learn about Greenwich Village. We will definitely be back to enjoy the unique and special places in Greenwich Village. |

A rare find exists with the Greenwich Village Food Tour. This 3 hour walking tour takes you to quiet enchanted streets we thought only existed in small European villages. The food was great and varied, and the information provided about the food, the buildings and the neighborhhood was terrific. Our tour guide Heather was great - extremely knowledgeable and likeable. All the details were very well coordinated and the timing was perfect - the pizza was hot out of the of oven when we arrived, the cookies were still warm, etc. A must do when in NYC! |

I am well travelled, but usually avoid group tours. I have found that the tour guides are often loud, make stupid jokes, and fail to provide interesting information. Not so with Kari Ann of the Greemwich Village food and culture tour! She was smart and well-spoken, and handled the tourists like grown-ups. She imparted fascinating information and took us to real places where I could soak up the "Village vibe." All this and delicious "tastings" too. We didin't have a lot of time in New York, and this was definitely time well spent. Thanks Kari Ann! |

Our group was led by the extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining Bert. The shops and restaurants we visited were excellent, but Bert made the tour. He knew the area very well, knew all about the places we visited and he was very friendly and engaging. Bert was born for this! Not only did he describe the history and uniqueness of each place at which we stopped and the food we were eating, but he filled us in on the history of the neighborhood, streets and even specific buildings along the way. Along the way he talked about other restaurants and shops in the area as well. I can't wait to get back to the neighborhood and try out some of the places he discussed and revisit some of the places we stopped at. We had a great time and are really looking forward to taking some of the other tours they offered. Bert's other tours are first on the list! |

Got taken to places where we wouldn't have thought of. Nibbles mixed with walking so not uncomfortably full, but was a good spaced out meal. Only criticism was visiting a bar where we had to buy drinks on top of the ticket price. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about food, Greenwich Village and the history of New York. Definately recommend. |

We really enjoyed the Greenwich Village food tour. I loved learning about the history of the neighborhood as well as uncovering some really great spots that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. Interested now in taking other tours with them! |

Best parts:
samplings of different food (we felt like it was less than a meal, but a more than a snack)
historical and personal info about businesses that help you appreciate who they are and what they serve
meeting restaurant owners (a tie to Fidel Castro - amazing!)
enthusiasm and knowledge of the tour guide
the pace
coupons to come back to shop later or to make dinner reservations
restaurants accommodated one person in our group with dietary issues
Not our favorite:
The tour went much longer that 2 hours - we would be fine with going over a few minutes, but 45 minutes is way, way over. Unfortunately that disrupted other plans that were to follow. |

Tour guide Bert was excellent, well spoken but relaxed and very knowledgeable and also had some funny stories. The food itself was great and timing was well coordinated so we really had no downtime at all during the tour. We went on a rainy day and for the most part it was not an issue because there are plenty of awnings to stand under for cover. Definetely recommend and would be happy to go again. |
