Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

My mother and I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was amazing. The food was amazing. We learned so much more than we thought we would. This tour is a great way to emerse yourself into the culture and experience the food the way a local would. I would suggest everyone who visits New York to go on it. It was wonderful.

I found the tour to be very enjoyable, enlightening and informative. A combination of history and current status in Greenwich Village. I would recommend to anyone for the purpose of being both entertaining and providing clarification on any misconceptions you may have about Greenwich Village

Our guide, Curt, was absolutely phenomenal ~ he has hands-on experience with all the stops on this delectable tour, and was very informative regarding the history of the neighborhoods. The food was positively sublime, and we came away with an arsenal of knowledge of which places to come back to for gastronomic pleasures of every sort and scenario. This tour is a must-do, and make sure to try to ensure that you have Curt as your guide. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! (and they definitely need to pay Curt more, he absolutely makes the tour spectacular).

This was one of the most delight Sundays I have had. We enjoyed this tour tremendously. Our guide was super. He was informative and very personable. The food tastings were well chosen and we enjoyed finding new places in the City. I have already recommended this to friends and family as a great "three hour tour" and will try some of you other tours in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk. It provided an excellent blend of great food, history, and current events, told by an insider who cares deeply about preserving the Village and its culture. The small size of the group allowed us to go places that large tours could not. We particularly liked seeing the inside of the food business in the Village. meeting restauranteurs and food establishment staff (and their pets!), and sampling the great bounty of their kitchens. This tour was the highlight of our visit to New York.

This tour was recommended to us by friends and we can't thank them enough. This was a clever, insightful, informative and filling way to experience a part of New York - then and now. The food was outrageous, the quantity immense, variety of food wonderful, and information about the neighborhood and particular restaurants was intrigueing. We loved the unique way the tour was given and the personality of the tour guide added to the excitement of the day. Thank you to Foods of New York and Zerve for a memorable day.

I really don't have much more to add here than what has already been said. I am a forever fan of this tour and look forward to the Chelsea tour on my next trip. I have saved the list of restaurants we visited and will make them a part of my next trips to NYC!

I enjoyed this tour from beginning to end. Jennie, our guide was great, a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it was extremely cold that day, so we weren't able to stick around and revisit all the places we learned about... but we are already planning our trip to greenwich village in the spring and are excited with the idea that we actually know where we are going and where we want to eat!

This tour was absolutely phenomenal. My husband and I lived in NYC for 10+ years before moving to the midwest and decided to take this tour on a whim...and are we ever glad we did! Susan was a wonderful tour guide and gave us lots of info on the shops and restaurants we toured, and on Greenwich Village in general. The Village is such a wonderful place for Foodies ... so many excellent shops catering to those who like to explore beyond typical restaurant fare. This tour included a wonderful spice shop, an excellent cheese shop, a true Italian market, many great restaurants, and even a speak-easy! The only thing missing? A wine tasting. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide (Susan?) was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. This was a great tour for someone who has been to NYC a couple of times or not at all. I enjoyed all the places we got to see and also taste. The food was all so good and filling :) ! I wish it wasn't raining (not that it was controllable) - but the length of time was perfect. I particularly liked the fact that we learned a lot about the history of all the different Village areas, houses, restaurants/markets, etc. It was a unique tour. Thanks for a great experience - I would and will highly recommend it to others who go to the City.
