Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

We were a group of 4 -- 2 adults and 2 teen-agers -- and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the restaurants and menus, and she couldn't have been nicer or more enthuastic. Two of us are vegetarians, and I was impressed that the tour operators were able to arrange for food that we were able to eat. Some of the foods were unusual, but all of it was delicious, and filling. I would recommend this tour for anyone - tourists and New Yorkers alike. You would not be disappointed.

The tour was well planned considering it started at noon and most of the establishments had customers. Food tastings were all very good with absolutely no need for lunch following the tour. Would highly recomment.

Good balance of food types in the tastings. Tour guide was sensitive to the effect of the very hot weather on the group. Guide was knowledgeable about the architecture and history of the district and imparted interesting information. We would have preferred fewer references to the Food Network but enjoyed her humor. The length of the tour was just about right; could have been 1/2 hr shorter. Would have preferred fewer people (10 rather than 15).

Mother (61) and daughter (23) both loved this tour. The range of food was very interesting, really tasty and enough to fill us until late evening. We were also taken to beautiful parts of the city we would never have found alone. Our guide, Cindy, was fantastic - so knowledgeable and entertaining. She kept us all interested, amused and educated throughout the tour, which was very well organised and great value for money. We returned to several of the food places to eat during the rest of our short break. I heard about it from a friend who had been on it and I have recommended it to everyone I have spoken to since coming home. If you are going to New York this is an essential experience.

The best $44 I spent in NYC!!! I plan to take one of the other food tours when I go back. More food than I expected too and EVERYTHIING was great!

Our guide, Sephorah (sp), was very knowledgeable, informative and entertaining on our walk and taste tour of Greenwich Village. The weather cooperated as it was a beautiful day also.

It was my 8th trip to NY from Switzerland, so I know the city pretty well. But that was the first time I've taken such a tour. It was really interesting to discover Greenwich Village while walking and eating some local specialties during the 3-hours tour with an enthusiastic guide. If I had to say something negative, it would be the fact that Amercian people insist too much on the 15% to 20% tip you "have to" give, what is not so common in Europe. But I would definitely recommend the tour, as long as you understand english pretty well...

From the moment the tour started and our convivial guide gave us our bottled water, I knew this was going to be an amazing culinary journey. Eating our way through the west village was a three hour experience I will not forget..you learn a great deal about the history of the area, recommendations on places to dine and soak in this special part of the city.. and the FOOD, oh my, you get to sample an array of delicious food from several establishments-its really worth the time and money and you will not be disappointed. Its an afternoon to saveur for many reasons. Plus all the walking that you do will make you less guilty on the indulgences!

Took the Greenwich Village Tour in 2005 and loved it. Wondered if this might just be a straight repeat, but still felt it was worth going. We were delighted to find both old favorites and new places to see on the current tour. Marie, our guide, was so good. We've also previously taken the Chelsea Market and Central Village/SoHo tours, and look forward to repeating those also!

When we were asked to meet at Murry's Cheese Shop and the taxi driver didn't know where it was, I began wondering about my decision to take this tour. But I was pleasantly surprised and 3 hrs later, my friends and I couldn't stop talking about the fun we had that day with our friends. The food was delicious and the conversation with our guide was very educational. She was very knowledgeable of the area, and the choices of restaurants and food establishments were excellent. If you're into chocolate.......We had the best chocolate chip cookie ever made. Yes, I love sweets! But everyone marveled over these cookies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to a friend.
