We participated in the Greenwich Village Tour in early January. Our guide was a local resident of the area, and her passion for the neighborhood, its local merchants, and its historic significance was evident and contagious. The food tastings were plentiful, enough for a meal, but better than that, they were of exceptional quality and often unique to the restaurant or shop visited --- that allowed the group to have tasting experiences we likely would not have discovered on our own. The restaurant & shop owners/staff were all extremely accommodating --- we purchased items from some that day, and will absolutely return for additional dining & shopping experiences in this part of the city. The pace of the tour was good, the tour length was fine (even though it was chilly, the 3 hours actually seemed to fly by), and the variety kept everyone's interest. All in all, a terrific experience and an excellent value. We will take advantage of other tours this company offers. |

The tour was outstanding! It was a great way to spend the day! The tour guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable not only about the local landmarks, but also about food. The restaurants and local establishments that we visited were excellent. I would highly recommend this tour. |

Our guide Kirt was very knowledgeable and concise. The time went by really quickly and every minute was filled with suggestions and wonderful food! Kirt was quick and funny and turned us on to restaurants, delicatessens, stores and neighborhood characters. We would do it again in a New York minute. As a matter of fact, we did return to the cheese store and deli the very next day. The one weird moment was when Kirt hid behind a pole in the subway after the tour when he saw us. Not cool, Kirt. We really thought you liked us. |

This was a fantastic tour that I would highly recommend to anyone spending some time in New York. Our tour guide was hilarious, the food was delicious, and it was a great way to get to know a neighborhood that we might otherwise have missed out on. It's worth the money and time! :) |

Whether you are interested in Food, Culture or history of the neighborhood, this tour had it all. I would recommend Foods of New York tours to anyone I know that visits NYC. It was well organized, informative and just a lot of fun. Also, the food we were served was delicious and fresh out of the oven. I look forward to trying their other Food tours of China town and Chelsea market. |

Our group of nine consisted of three former New Yorkers, two Brits and visitors from Kentucky, Michigan and Massachusetts. All LOVED this tour. Our tour day was rainy and cool but nothing dampened our experience. We learned about the Village and ate our way from pizza to cookies and from a subtle cauliflower appetizer to faux BBQ'd pork at a Japanese vegetarian restaurant (and yes, you read that correctly). We learned about early Village history and it's modern development; about Washington Irving and Edna St. Vincent Millay; about Cherry Lane Theatre and basement jazz on Cornelia St. Dave, our guide was great. It is hard to please all of the people all of the time but Dave did this for more than three hours of fabulous fare and fun - even the jaded former New Yorkers were dazzled by what had been in their backyard, missed till now. |

This tour was a nice intro to Greenwich Village, a gem neighborhood of NYC that's full of quaint and delicious restaurants, specialty shops, theaters and cool places to live.
Our guide was friendly and informed, dropping in enough history and current culture to make the midday trek through the Village continually interesting. Plus, the " food tastings" were great! |
