One of the best things we did in New York! Our guide Cindy was witty and funny and knew her stuff! We learnt heaps of fun stuff and our bellies ended up full of some amazing authentic Village treats. We will definitely take more Foods of NY tours when we come back next year. DO THIS TOUR!!!!!!

Discover The Village in a different way

It was my 8th trip to NY from Switzerland, so I know the city pretty well. But that was the first time I've taken such a tour. It was really interesting to discover Greenwich Village while walking and eating some local specialties during the 3-hours tour with an enthusiastic guide. If I had to say something negative, it would be the fact that Amercian people insist too much on the 15% to 20% tip you "have to" give, what is not so common in Europe. But I would definitely recommend the tour, as long as you understand english pretty well...

Our tour guide was Kurt who was delightful. He had an extensive knowledge of the area and it's history. Every time we ate it was delicious and left me with a great impression of the establishment that will certainly lead me to future visits. The tour was very educational and provided an unforgettable element. My girlfriend and I look forward to participating in the other available tours and have reccomended the Greenwich tour to a number of friends already. This tour is great for a day out in the city or for restaurant research purposes as we fully intend to revist those restaurants shown on the tour. My first impression of the price seemed lofty however the 3 hour tour provides a great amount of entertainment and will not leave you hungry.

Took the Greenwich Village Tour in 2005 and loved it. Wondered if this might just be a straight repeat, but still felt it was worth going. We were delighted to find both old favorites and new places to see on the current tour. Marie, our guide, was so good. We've also previously taken the Chelsea Market and Central Village/SoHo tours, and look forward to repeating those also!

What a fun tour. Our tour guide, Cindy, seemed to know everything about the Village. The food was wonderful. We could have spent the whole day there if not for the weather. Every visitor to New York should take this tour!

We participated in the Greenwich Village Tour in early January. Our guide was a local resident of the area, and her passion for the neighborhood, its local merchants, and its historic significance was evident and contagious. The food tastings were plentiful, enough for a meal, but better than that, they were of exceptional quality and often unique to the restaurant or shop visited --- that allowed the group to have tasting experiences we likely would not have discovered on our own. The restaurant & shop owners/staff were all extremely accommodating --- we purchased items from some that day, and will absolutely return for additional dining & shopping experiences in this part of the city. The pace of the tour was good, the tour length was fine (even though it was chilly, the 3 hours actually seemed to fly by), and the variety kept everyone's interest. All in all, a terrific experience and an excellent value. We will take advantage of other tours this company offers.

I had a fantastic time on this tour. As someone from a multicultural city who has experienced lots of different cuisines, I was still delighted by the yummy treats offered during this tour. We learned several things about Greenwich Village and felt more comfortable getting around the neighbourhood after the tour. There was more than enough food to leave you not wanting lunch. One of the great features was getting a fresh slice of hot pizza from the start. We even sat down for a bit during the middle of the tour to have some rissotto, and the fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies were such as treat. When we walked through the restaurants and shops, I could tell the other customers were somewhat envious about what we weere eating and learning. In addition, our tour guide was well-spoken, cheerful, knowledgeable, and as in-love with NYC as we became. I'd highly recommend the Greenwich Village tour. Dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes, and come with an empty stomach. Cheers!
