Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

We booked this tour after hearing about it from another friend and could not have been more pleased with our decision! We were travelling as a group of 6 friends and had so much fun. Our tour guide, Carrie Ann, was amazing and very knowledgable about the Greenwhich Village area. We loved hearing about the history of the area and the restaurants/stores in the vicinity and of course enjoyed sampling the food at each of the stops. The variety was great and the food was tasty. Our only complaint was that there was a couple in our group who were smokers and we didn't enjoy having cigarette smoke wafting through the air around us. We would recommend offering some tours as "non-smoking" so people would have the option of a smoke-free tour. Thanks for the great day!!

I went on this tour because I love to eat and cook and I wanted to learn more about the Greenwich area. It was worth every penny. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and entertaining, she really knew her stuff! The variety of food was fantastic and there was definitely enough. I ended up buying a cookie cookbook during the tour and also making a brunch reservation at one of the restaurants. I will recommend this tour to everyone I know is going to Manhattan, and I would not hesitate to go on another tour with this company after this experience.

The length of the tour was perfect with an appropriate mix of historical, gastronomical and whimsical information about the area. The highlight, of course, was the food tastings and the opportunity to enter a number of the establishments and get a sense of what is available for eats. The coupons for food discounts was also welcome. Excellent tour guide who was enthusiastic and genuine. Nothing false about this tour. Excellent value.

We really enjoyed our tour of Greenwich Village and the food tastings. It was truly one of the highlights of our New York City trip! Our guide was very enthusiastic and very informative about the area, its history and local foods. It was so fun to go into so many establishments and sample their specialities. We were so glad that this tour had been recommended to us!

When you see a place on foot, and with a guide, you get so much more out of it. We've visited Greenwich village many times while holidaying in New York, but didn't realise how much we'd missed until our guide Barri (f) took us on this really enjoyable food tour. Tastings of delicious pizza, cheese, cake, cookie, antipasta, chocolate spread and olive oil (at O & Co, our favourite of the speciality food shops included on the tour), kept us going while we learned not just about the food shops but also about several of the restaurants in the area (and the people behind them), the buildings along the way, and the neighbourhood's history.

We had such a great time on our tour! The guide was knowledgable and so very interesting and fun!! Her stories were fabulous...and the food was superb!!! This tour was recommended to me and I have already recommended to other friends! Thanks again...from three crazy Canadian ladies!

Enjoyed this walking tour from start to finish. The guide gave us a lot of interesting information.

The tour guide was so fun, witty, and theatrical. she knew everything about the area, her name was Marie. All the restaurant choices were excellent, pizza, cheeses, olive oils, cookies, mac n cheese, you name it. the group was fun, a mix of couples and international tourists of all ages from 25-50. i would definitely do this again and highly recommend it to anyone!

Our tour director Sephra was so entertaining and informative that I'd like to take another walking tour with her. My favorite spots were the cheese shop and the olive oil shop.

Our guide made the experience outstanding (unusual name, just had a baby). This is a classy operation. Hot food was hot, cold food was cold. Visited landmark eating establishments and learned alot about the history and culture of the Village. Knowledgeable guide taught me many things I did not already know and I've lived in NYC for 14 years! Almost all the merchants were friendly and happy to have a big group crash into their establishments. I have raved about this every day since.... Makes me want to spend more time in the Village.
