Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

Our guide made the experience outstanding (unusual name, just had a baby). This is a classy operation. Hot food was hot, cold food was cold. Visited landmark eating establishments and learned alot about the history and culture of the Village. Knowledgeable guide taught me many things I did not already know and I've lived in NYC for 14 years! Almost all the merchants were friendly and happy to have a big group crash into their establishments. I have raved about this every day since.... Makes me want to spend more time in the Village.

Our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeble about Greenwich Village. She lived in the communtiy for many years, so she has a great deal of local lore to offer a tourist! I enjoyed learning about all the stores and restaurants as well as the local theater and night life. It was a terrific value, and the food was wonderful. Over all, a super experience! I plan to return to New York and take a different food tour each time!

Nice tour in a small part of Greenwich with enthusiastic and knowledgable guide with visits to several small restaurants and shops for tasting and information. Also guiding on sights of historic and celebrity interest. We would have prefered to cover a larger area (more walking) and spend less time at some of the stops.

Bert was our tour guide and he was fantastic...I would highly recommend this tour...it was tastey and informative.

We loved our food tour in Greenwich Village! (family of 4 with 12 and 18 yr olds). A little off the beaten track....not as crowded as the 'major attractions'. We tasted the simple (NY pizza and chocolate chip cookies), the eclectic (risotto balls and dates stuffed gorganzola) and the divine (Italian cannoli)! Bert was our tour guide and was enthusiastic from start to finish. He happily answered all questions about the tour and NYC in general. It was hot but he never faltered. Bert lead us on a multi-faceted tour. Every street was a destination whether we were tasting delicious food, getting the lowdown on neighborhood restaurants and shops of all kinds or learning about the history of Village architecture. It was a highlight of our trip. Later that evening we went back to one of the neighborhood restaurants that Bert had told us about....there really was a 1700's farmhouse 'out back' annexed to the restaurant courtyard and surrounded by modern buildings!! Who knew. And the food there was superb....so that meal was a highlight of our trip too. It was a good day in NYC!

Review Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour was an amazing experience with Berri our tour guide. I liked it so much I wished we would have booked more tours during our week stay. The tour offered insight on culture and taste back in the old days. We were taken to places I felt that tourist don't get to see or learn about. I have and will be recommending to everyone I know going to visit the Big Apple.

We throughly enjoyed our food tour! Barri out tour guide was absolutly wonderful and extremely knowledgable about the food and history of Greenwich Village. She was very accomodating to my partners allergies also. The guys who work at O & Co. where really great! Fantastic oils and more! Murrays Cheese shop was delicous as was the meat shop. Three hours passed by very quickly and enjoyably while walking about Greenwich Village, tasting an array of delicious food and learning about the area. Our guide was most entertaining and knowledgeable. I had fun, learned a lot and was impressed with the quality and quantity of food provided.

Great way to spend a hot afternoon in-between a.m. and p.m. activities. Learned some great history and cultural 'tidbits'. Food was wonderful, with pointers on what else was choice in the area. My friend has food allergies, and not only were these addressed most satisfactorily, Bert always made a point of 'presenting' her's first like she was the special one, not the different one. Bert did a great job and knows his food. We felt almost like locals going back again. Add more great tours!
