All of the food tasting items were amazing with great quality and flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The buildings in the historic are fantastic, and it was so interesting to hear about how the Village got its foundation. Eating in the farmhouse at Palma's was such a unique dining experience. I want to do this tour again when I visit NYC next time. |

We took my Mom to NYC for her birthday and tried all kinds of different food and learned about the Village. It was a great day, could have been more walking, we went out on our own after the tour and found so many more great places. We definitely have to come back! |

I do not feel this tour was worth $50 a person. I am not a big eater and even I felt there was not enough food provided to call it a meal (which in the description this was described as being enough for a meal), I can't imagine how the men felt. Most of the stops would cost less than a dollar to purchase that food yourself- wish we had just gone by ourselves to taste things at different stores, would have saved a lot of money. We did not find the information given at all valuable or interesting or anything we didn't know before. Ultimately, I can not believe we spent $104 on this. Would NOT recommend to anyone. |

I've been to New York a ton of times but have never done a food tour, and I'm so glad I finally did. This is a great one, too, because the area has so much history and so much great food!!! The restaurants are also affordable for NYC restaurants and the food is always stellar. Our tour guide was good and knew a lot about the area and things going on around there.
The places we visited were all fantastic. There was plenty of food. Other tours I looked at required you to pay for the food as well as the tour, and I liked that the food was all included. It wasn't a ton of food but just tastings at each place. But after 7-8 places, it was enough. Of course, I had to go back to Faicco's for more rice balls! There was a nice variety of food on the tour as well.
The only annoying thing was that in the middle of our tour, a local started talking to our guide about some political stuff going on in his neighborhood. While I'm all about locals having a say in politics, this wasn't the time or the place for it since we paid for a tour and no one lived in the city! She was very polite and listened to what he had to say but that ended up taking up a bit of time.... I just wish she would have said "I'm sorry but none of these people live here and can't really do anything about it." Other than that, it was great!
It was a great tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to do one. I'll definitely be doing another one of a different area next time I make it back to NYC. |

We met our tour guide Marie on Saturday, March 9th. She was early (which I loved) and very enthusiastic and knowledgable about the neighborhood. I highly recommend the Greenwich Village tour! We visit the City often, and usually stay in the midtown area, but this tour really highlighted the area and my husband and I will definitely explore down there a lot more often (especially now, since we know a few places to visit). We loved the stores and restaurants that we stopped at on the tour, our favorites being O & Co and Murray's Cheese Shop. The olive oils that we bought from O & Co and amazingly delicious and we've enjoyed them since we've been home.
The three hour walk is very pleasant and proceeded at a reasonable pace. There was a stop about half way through the tour where we could sit down for a few minutes and have a drink with some appetizers that they passed around, and use the restroom.
The owners of the stores and restaurants where we stopped were very nice and answered any questions that we had about their products.
I would recommend taking the first tour of the day - especially if you're going on the weekend - because the stores and sidewalks get crowded, and it's a pain to keep scooting out of people's way that are trying to walk around you.
Loved the tour, and can't wait to try some of the tours in other parts of the City! You have a customer for life! |

Greenwich Village: Best Three Hours of our Trip

This was my fourth trip to NYC, my fifth food tour, and my 2nd with this company. Let me just say that this was not only my favorite tour of the five I've taken, but the absolute highlight of our trip. We are four sisters-in-law in town from the West Coast for two of our 30th birthdays. We booked this tour because I had loved my previous experience with the company (Chelsea Market tour) and because none of us had really explored Greenwich Village on previous trips to the city. We ventured out on a snowy and cold day, but it didn't stop our tour guide Bert from showing us a fabulous time. He kept our group moving and entertained the whole time. I know each stop is the same no matter which tour guide you have, but Bert made the stops even more interesting by adding pieces of history and humor along the way. You can tell his love for food, culture, and for the neighborhood are genuine. He spent time talking to not only the group as a whole, but each individual group as the day went on. The three hours literally flew by we were having so much fun! We were worried it would be a hard three hours trudging through the snow (and two of us are in our second trimester of pregnancy!) but never once did we feel worn out or exhausted. The tour was the perfect blend of the variety of food you can experience in the Village. We never would have thought to stop in to places such as Home or Centro without this tour, and those ended up being some of our most enjoyable stops. And we fell in love with Joe's so much so in fact that we went back that night and ordered a whole pie (and ran into another couple from our food tour while we were there!). We had three stops that gave us plenty of time to sit and rest and enjoy our tasting, and by the end we were so excited about the area we actually went back to three of the places to purchase more food to take back to the hotel with us. We were stuffed by the end of the tastings but couldn't leave without tucking some extra cannolis and olive oil and other tasty treats in our bags for later. Bert made our day, and the two tours we took after our time with him (with two other companies) paled in comparison. There is no way I would book with another company after truly seeing how superior this company is to all others. Hands down something we will always remember as the highlight of our trip. I cannot recommend this company, this specific tour, or Bert the tour guide highly enough! |

We loved this tour! Even though the weather was not the greatest, our guide made it so enjoyable and the food was fantastic. It's a great way to experience local cuisine and see a really interesting part of the city. Our guide was truly an expert on the tastings and also offered a lot of other details about restaurants and nightlife in Greenwich. I really appreciated that Bert knew so much about food and cooking and he was a wonderful storyteller. He made it so much fun that the three hours flew by. I will absolutely go on this tour again and recommend it to others. |

Our tour guide was fantastic. Barry was very knowledgeable about the neighborhood's history and of each of the restaurant's owner and history. It was really interesting and cool to learn so much about NY's history and why things are the way they are today. As a New Yorker, I really enjoyed every story and fact she shared. One of my friends lives in the neighborhood and was fascinated by everything we learned. Great tour, totally recommend it! |

Foods of NY continues to impress. Have been on a few tours in the past and all were terrific. Cindy was our tour guide and she was amazing. Great energy. Great sense of humor. Passion for food and life. Gave us all some terrific ideas. The food was crazy good, will definitely frequent the restaurants and shops in our travels into the city. The meatball and cannoli were among the best we've ever tasted. We'll be back. Oh, and Cindy was a JETS fan so she's got that going for her as well! |

The Greenwich Village Tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to New York. Our tour guide Cindy was fantastic - entertaining, knowledgeable, and extremely personable. She went out of her way to make sure that everyone was happy and comfortable. All of the food tastings were excellent and really painted a cultural picture of the neighborhood. I felt like we got a good sense of what that little pocket of the city is like, and I only wish we could have spent more time there.
The tour provided a smart balance of historic information, trivia tidbits, and (of course) food! I wish that we would have taken this tour closer to the beginning of our stay so that we could have taken more advantage of the restaurant recommendations that the tour provided. Next time we are in New York, we will definitely go on another Foods of New York Tour! |
