Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

The tour gave my high school friends and I a greater appreciation of NYC. Sometimes we just wander around, this tour was both informative and entertaining. Our guide Raheem was incredible! Will definitely attend another Zerve tour.

Not quite sure what to expect, because always felt these type of walking tours were over priced and not value for money, but how wrong could I have been. Always like to be early so we arrived in Bleecker Street and sat outside Murry's Cheese Shop and waited for the guide to arrive. We arrived so early that we had the chance to listen to the guide welcome the people on the tour before ours, she had good banter with the group and created a good atomshere. Our guide turned up just after the early tour had left and again greeted you and involved you in all that was going on. Our time to set off came and off we went, pizza first and then to the olive oil shop from there it was the local butchers and into an of-of Broardway Theartre and the on to other restaurants and shops. For such a small area around 4th Street you could not believe so much goes on down there. On returning home I have now reviewed the other walking tours that take place and next time will put them high on the list of things to do.

We took this tour on a drizzly day in January. I can say it was the highlight of our trip to NYC ! It combined food, nostalgia & facts about the village. I hated to leave ! .. and would not have but had plans for the 9/11 memorial the same day. Our boys 8 & 11 had a blast with our guide ( Kurt). They enjoyed the food & the facts ! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting & hope to return to nyc to de another one !

If Curt is any representation of The Original Greenwich Village Tour Team, then it's safe to assume all of you must have wined and dined at birth. Curt was incredibly knowledgable and, at times, kept us laughing with his New York-Vancouver sized standup act. Charming, helpful, and his innate ability to herd human beings, makes Curt one of the best tour guides we have ever experienced in the world. Can't wait to journey with you guys again!! This enjoyable tour was led by a highly enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide - Sephra. It was brilliant to see a different part of New York and where the locals dine. There is lots of food tasting involved so make you sure you go on an empty stomache. Fun, interesting and highly recommended.

Even though it was freezing cold, Bert, our guide made us feel warm like family. He was amazing with his great sense of humour,his knowledge of the neighbourhood and his ability to find warm sunny spots for us to stand as he spoke. The food was excellent, lots of it, don't bother with lunch plans! Learned alot, ate alot, and laughed alot. Best bang for your buck!! Highly recommended

Bert was exceptional & led an awesome tour for our group! This is the 2nd time I've taken this tour and one of the new stops to me, O & Co was a highlight. Thanks for a great New York 'must do' experience!

Our family had a wonderful time. We toured the west village and our guide (Bert) was fantastic! I have teenage children and it can be hard to find things that appeal to all of us. They loved it!! They remembered some of the interesting facts that they learned and they really enjoyed the tastings! A great way to spend a few hours in NYC!

Freezing cold did not hamper our extreme enjoyment of the entire experience - great guide (Heather), great food, tons of interesting info an all-around wonderful tour.

My husband and I and two older teenage sons went on this tour on a very cold February day. We loved the variety of foods to try, the length and pace of the tour, getting a little background information on the foods, and learning a little history of the village area. We tried places we never would have tried otherwise and really enjoyed Bert, our tour guide. His knowledge, humor, and enthusiasm kept everything just the right balance of informative and fun. He was great. After the 11:30 tour was over, we weren't hungry until later in the evening. If you like trying different foods and history, you'll really enjoy this.. If we had done the tour earlier in our trip, we could have gone back to the restaurants for a full meal. This was one of the highlights of our trip!
