Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

Such a terrific tour! Our guide, Sephrah was extremely knowledgeable, gracious and very entertaining. The food was delicious and the Greenwich community very welcoming. Highly recommend

It was a hot day but we still enjoyed all the food tastings and the excellent information provided by our tour guide, Bert. We have only positive comments - good food selection, useful information about other interesting places in the neighborhood, architecture and history and generally just a fun experience. We went back to a couple of places to buy products and returned for a drink at another place we toured. Highly recommend Bert - enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable of the neighborhood and the food.

This was an interesting way to get to know a bit of history about the Village and to get a glimpse of its many offerings. Food tastings were extremely rich, each and every one of them. People who put tour together must have had iron stomachs. Highlight of tour was olive oil shop - very educational. Cindy, the tour guide was educated about the area, but was condescending to one of the women on the tour and made some politically incorrect comments that made me very uncomfortable. As tour guides go, she was fair at best.

We just returned from NYC for a quick 3-night anniverary weekend, and this food tour was one of the highlights of the trip. Our tour guide, Sefra (sp?), was AWESOME! She had just the right mix of humor and information to keep us engaged the entire time. The tour itself exceeded our expectations, and we plan to do another tour with this company next time we are in the city.

This tour truly delivers..delicious food, little-known historical facts, mingling with the locals, and great exercise to top it off! Our guide Cindy was first class, and her energy was contagious. She knows her stuff and goes the extra mile to make sure her guests get the most from their experience. If you enjoy good food, and want a real New York experience, take this tour. You will be glad that you did.

My friends & I just returned from our girls trip & our first & favorite activity was the Greenwich Village Food & Culture Tour led by Bert! I was looking for a different activity for my group because each of us has been to NYC before & this tour was perfect for us. We all felt that it was an exceptional value. Our tour began at 11 am & ended at 2pm. Our group of 5 made the number of participants 17, however, due to Bert's finesse, we felt as if we were the only people on the tour! Bert has a wonderful knowledge of the village & great relationships with the small businesses we had the pleasure to visit. Our tour was "Food & Culture" & Bert was a pro at inserting bits of history, architecture & trivia. But boy did we taste! I think we had 8 samples of food & it was MORE than enough for lunch. Our samples included: pizza from Joe's, olive oil from O & Co, baquette from Amy's, Macaroni & Cheese from Home, hot cookie from (can't remember), trio of appetizers from a great Italian place artichoke with shaved parmesan, fried polenta with marinara, gorgonzola stuffed & Bacon wrapped date, rice ball from quaint deli & 3 types of cheese from Murray's, plus a mini canoli. We were SO stuffed but pleased that we got to try so many different tastes of this wonderful neighborhood. While the tour is 3 hours, Bert led at a leisurely pace. To sum this experience up, all we can say is that it was a 5 star experience & more than worth the price. If you are ready for a different NYC experience, give one of these tours a try! You won't regret it:). I'm planning another trip for November & already looking at their other tours because we loved this one so much!

We really enjoyed this tour and have done many others all over the country. Heather our tour guide was very informative not just on food, but history of the area too. The food tastings were varied and sooo good. We would recommend it to anyone else. The walk is easy and there is plenty to eat.

Our group of 6 ranged in age- 40's thru 60's. We were delighed with the tour. Many of our group toured different areas of New York before but all agreed this was by far the best tour we have been on. The food was great and our tour guide (Marie) was very well versed on her presentation of the area and the establishments we visited.The only thing we were disappointed in was that we didn't have enough time to shop at each location but needed to return after the tour to purchase the items we wanted to take back with us. Thanks for a great tour!!

Good tour. Hard to hear the guide sometimes. Streets very noisey. Would be better if they took you on a side street to talk.I liked the food on the central village tour better. Preferred the central village tour overall
