Favorite part of our trip

Two of my sisters and I did the walking food tour of Greenwich Village. It was my favorite part of our trip. Marie was our host and she was a wealth of knowledge about the architecture, the borough, and, of course, the food. Loved, loved, loved the tour. The stops were all great but I especially enjoyed, pause, wait I enjoyed all of them. I can't pick one over the other. We went to Centro Vinoteca, Faicco's (twice), Joe's Pizza, Murray's Cheese, O & Co., Rocco's, and Milk and Cookies. Will go again!

Great Neighbourhood! Great NeighbourFOOD

We had a most wonderful time in the Greenwich Village taking in the historical architecture and homemade family foods. When you are told that you do not need lunch, they are not kidding. The portions are just the right amount but there always seemed to some sort of leftover on the plate for one of the guys to finish up. There are only about 16 people on the trip with a guide so there is lots of great interaction and personal attention. From homemade pizza at Joes to great tasting olives and oils to fresh baked chocolate chip cookes, you will not be diasppointed by each distinct flavor. I was not disappointed with this tour at all..I only wished I had booked another tour.

Terrific experience in Greenwich Village

Our guide was knowledgeable and congenial, pleasant and fun without being ingratiating. He was enthusiastic and clear and combined just enough historical background with information about the food we ate and the establishments we visited. He was kind and accommodating, even though we took our tour in pouring rain. The food was excellent--the tour provided a nice mix of kinds of food and a variety of different locations to visit. By the end, we were all quite full. One of our group was a 12-year-old with narrow tastes, but our guide was very nice to her and she enjoyed the tour. Highly recommended, not just for tourists but for locals. I used to live in the neighborhood we toured, and still learned quite a lot.

Fun, Food and an awesome tour guide

Although our tour started on a rainy note, they were ready with disposable rain ponchos which worked out perfectly. The walking was easy - all of our tastings took place in a few short blocks, so don't let that detour you. The food was excellent - everything from great pizza, cookies, olive oil tasting, cheese.... and much more. The discussion of the neighborhood architecture was interesting and fun without being "too" educational and boring. Its great for the local Greenwich businesses as we will positively be back. I travel a lot, and i would rate this as a definite highlight that should not be missed.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, Heather offered a wonderful mixture of food commentary and history! I would like to suggest that you add a little more variety of foods to this tour. It was a little heavy on the pizza (2 stops) and Italian foods. I am sure Greenwich Village has some great Indian, Asian, Spanish, etc.

Everything was excellent: warm, friendly greeting in front of Murray's Cheese Shop, Bert, the best guide ever, the delicious food and hospitality provided by each vendor, the tree-shaking demonstration by Claw, the history lesson, the neighborhood tour - the entire experience was a blast. Can't wait to do it again!

We had a fabulous time!

This was an activity on our second honeymoon, and it was perfect. Even the rain did not dampen our enjoyment. And, truthfully we weren't out in it that much. Our guide, Burt, was excellent. He was so knowledgable, funny, and considerate- it was a pleasure. We even got to tour a theatre which was sublime for me. The food was fantastic, yummy and plentiful and we were treated well in all the locations. It was no problem for me being a vegetarian on this tour, and again was treated kindly in this regard. I did think the one treat that was a fig with bacon would have been fun without the bacon, but it wasn't that big a deal to get something else. We extended our pleasure by going back to some of the shops and getting food to take on the plane...wow was that fun. All in all, a wonderful day!
