Food Tour with Sephrah is a MUST!

We were recommended to this tour from someone who had taken it. We were toured through Greenwich Village by Sephrah. On a scale of 1 - 10, she was an 11. She was fun, funny, witty and delightful by the minute! We loved EVERY stop and taste on the tour... and a wide variety of foods it was. This was my absolute memorable tour we took and was the most unique and fun thing we did. Thanks, Sephrah. You are fantastic! This food tour is an absolute must to anyone who visits New York or LIVES there. Nancy and Stewart

My husband and I recently went on the Greenwich Village food tour. To say we had an amazing time would be an understatement. Our tour guide was so funny and knowledgeable. We laughed so much and learned more than we thought we could have. It would be a great way to begin a trip to NY to learn places and areas that you should eat at and visit more. I would recommend this to everyone!

The tour was more than we expected -- and we expected it to be great after the glowing recommendation from our friends. If you are looking for a great way to spend an afternoon in NYC you can't go wrong with this tour, assuming you like interesting food, a slow informative walk, and meeting people from other areas of North America.

a friend took the original greenwich village tour a few months ago and recommended it to us. we had a wonderful time..we go to NYC two times a year, traveling from ohio, and this truly was one of the funnest activities we have ever done. what a great way to spend an afternoon in the city. the samplings were abundant and outstanding. the history was a great added bonus to the delicious offerings. we can't wait to try another tour the next time we're visiting the city. thanks so much for offering a true gem. and thanks to our tour guide, heather. she was great. sincerely, Gregg & Ken

Bert took us on a fascinating Odyssey around Greenwich Village. Our group of 8 women from UK & Canada loved all the stories, historical snippets and culinary advice & enjoyed the many very different tastings that we received. Not only was this a foodie tour, but also an excellent intro to the Village. Thoroughly enjoyable - we all said that we would recommend this tour to anyone we know visiting the Big Apple.

Not to be missed bargain of a tour!

As a native New Yorker I like to think there isn't much I've missed. So, when I booked this tour for my husband's birthday my only thought was a guilt free excursion filled with mouth watering food from some of my favorite Village eateries while we got to work off the calories with the walk. We got so much more for our money! The value here is incredible. For less than the cost of most one hour tours, our guide Heather took us on a three hour extravaganza of food, wine, history and architecture. We feasted on artisanal cheeses, fresh baked bread slathered with lavender honey, olive oils redolent with herbs, chocolate chip cookies warm from the oven, REAL New York pizza (and I say this as a native!), and even had a midway stop at an enotecca where we could have a glass of wine along with our complimentary tastings. (Don't miss the bacon wrapped stuffed date!) Oh, and don't let me forget the crispy canolli as light and sweet as Christmas. Even though it's billed as a tasting tour, our group of five was stuffed by the end of our tour. No need for lunch before or after this tour! As we walked the narrow and winding streets of Greenwich Village, Heather filled us in with all sorts of tidbits on theater, history, culture and 'hidden' New York. It's hard to imagine Manhattan was once a sparsely settled island filled farms and dirt roads, but parts of that old person-scaled New York remain and Heather was happy to point them out to us. Along the walk we discovered the narrowest house on Manhattan, built in an alley between two older town homes. (it's barely 9 feet wide and has been home to several important artists and writers) And then there's Grove Court, a tiny necklace of hidden homes behind their street front neighbors. In fact, as the city expanded, a number of these older homes became hidden from street view, known only to the locals. In fact, as someone born and raised in New York, I was astounded at how many new things I learned during this tour. One of the best parts about this tour, though, and the thing that prompted me to post this review is that it felt less like a tour and more like a group of friends exploring the City. Heather immediately put everyone at their ease. She provided bottled water and introductions and soon we were hanging out, exchanging stories and laughing together like an old bunch of friends who haven't seen each other in awhile. She even gave us coupons to use in the neighborhood so we could go back to some of the shops for our souvenir and holiday purchases. I've taken much more expensive tours in cities all over America and Europe and I can recommend Foods Of New York Tours as one of the best buys for your money and an experience not to be missed.

We were hoping to come away with some interesting information about Greenwich Village and memories of good food we might like to go back and enjoy later. This is just what we got! We learned a lot about the area and it's delightful shops. The tour was well paced and tastings were filling. We were not disappointed! We've already returned to some of the businesses we visited on the tour and will likely go back again on our next NYC visit.

We had an amazing guide, Zaphyrah (Hope I spelled it correctly). I believe we ate almost every 6 minutes. The entire experience was so much fun. I really didn't have any idea of what to expect, but was so pleasantly surprised. I would recommend to everyone!
