The tour was a lot of fun. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and displayed a true love for the neighborhood. The food was also great-truly the best of what NY has to offer.

We enjoyed the walking and eating tour through Greenwich Village. The guide was knowledgeable and gave us some good ideas for restaurants to go to in the area when we are back in NYC, and some history of the buildings. We also used the coupon in the tourbook for a free wine tasting after the tour, at a SOHO wine store specializing in local wines, which was great. The only quibble I have is that the tour is not really geared towards foodies - with the exception of the cheese store and speciality olive oil store, most of the food we tasted would be considered pretty basic, for example, pizza (twice!), cookies, and a donar. I would charge twice the price and make it a real gourmet experience. I would still say that it was good value for money. Probably not a good place for kids - the ones on the tour looked miserable!

We had a blast. Our two teens are not normally enthusiastic about "tours" - but we dragged them along with the promise of food. They had as wonderful a time as we did. Barri was a fountain of information; each food choice was a treat and the vendors were all hospitable; and we explored the neighborhood in a way we never would have otherwise. This tour had been recommended to us and we will certainly continue to pass along the recommendation.

My friend and I took the Greenwich Village Food Tasting Tour. What a great way to get to know the area. Unfortunately, we took the tour at the end of our vacation. But the good news is that now I know right where I want to go when I come back to NYC. Can't wait to try some more of the restaurants.

I used to live in NYC and never knew this much about the village. Our tour guide was top notch and really knew his stuff. I cannot wait for another trip to NYC to take another tour. If your other tours are as good as this one, then I'm sure to have an excellent time!!

Not only was this tour entertaining and educational, it was the highlight of our trip. Michael was our guide and the recommendation by another guide proved to be true. WE learned so much about the area, the food, the city, and the life style that we will share it with many of our friends that have not made the NYC trip yet. The variety of tastings was excellent and the pace was steady. Our trip went over 3 hours and the only downside was standing--to listen, to wait, and to eat most of the time. However, this is common on all tours and just a problem if that bothers someone. Perhaps, rental of the little canes that turn into stools would be helpful for older folks...if we return we will try another tour, but I don't think anything could beat Greenwich Village!

I participated in the Chelsea Market/ Meat Packing District Tour on a freezing cold winter day in 2007. LOVED IT! The Greenwich Village Tour I attended Aug. 3rd, 2008 was even better - due to a balmy day and a bit more history and restaurants available in the Village. I highly recommend both tours, and I look forward to going on the SoHo tour next year. The guides are typically actors working a 2nd, 3rd job, and they are quite entertaining. If you plan on visiting the city throughout your life, you'll totally appreciate the inside scoop you get from these tours. I also enjoyed meeting the people on the tours. This is an activity that one could go on alone without feeling uncomfortable. Bon-appetite!

My sister and I decided to take my mother on the Greenwich Village Food and Cultural Tour as a gift for Mother's Day. My mom is from Staten Island and worked in the city for many years, and we live in NJ now, but we learned so much about the Village that we never knew before. Our guide, Mike, was wonderful, and his colorful personality and insight made the visit so special. The food was great, too, and there was plenty to fill us up. I highly recommend this tour!

I'd been wanting to take a food tour for a while and convinced my mother to join me one Sunday afternoon. We both had a blast. Our guide, Heather, was both very knowledgable and enthusiastic. The food spots we visited were not only good but places I haven't been before, and I've lived in the NYC for the past 3 years.. It exceeded all of my expectations. I have already suggested the tour to both my local and out of town friends. I can't wait to sign up for another one myself.

I've lived in NYC for 8 years and had friends coming in from out of town and thought, since the weather was nice, that a walking tour would be more fun than a bus tour. We had a blast and I actually learned a ton about the city. The food was good and it was more than a full meal! Had I known we were going to be stuffing our faces (and all for $40!), I wouldn't have eaten breakfast. Heather, our tour guide, was a delight and knew her stuff. I recommend it for any out of towners looking for a fun tour and for any New Yorkers looking for an inexpensive way to fill your Saturday afternoon (lunch included!).
