This was one of my favorite things I did during my visit to NYC. The tour guide was super knowledgable and the food stops were incredible. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to get the true feeling for Greenwich Village. It was outstanding and worth the money. |

We had never tried anything like this and didn't know quite what to expect. What a delightful experience it was! Our nephew, in NYC for the first time (as a high school graduation present), was utterly impressed, and very taken with Greenwich Village. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable not only about the foods we tasted but also about the history and architecture of the area. We enjoyed it so much that we recommended it to friends who live in NYC, as well as family who visited from Australia recently, and who were going to be in the city. We tasted everything; from Joe's pizza, to nibbles from an Italian restaurant, to a specialty olive oil shop, to a specialty cheese shop, to freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and to freshly made New York style cheesecake. WELL DONE! |

Much to my surprise I learned a great deal of history about Greenwich Village and the restaurants we visited. All of the food was wonderful and I loved the entire Greenwich area. Our tour guide shared a wealth of knowledge with us and he was very entertaining. I even went back to the Greenwich area the next day to visit the shops and enjoy some Gelato ice cream. I highly recommend this tour. |

We loved our food tour in Greenwich Village! (family of 4 with 12 and 18 yr olds). A little off the beaten track....not as crowded as the 'major attractions'. We tasted the simple (NY pizza and chocolate chip cookies), the eclectic (risotto balls and dates stuffed gorganzola) and the divine (Italian cannoli)!
Bert was our tour guide and was enthusiastic from start to finish. He happily answered all questions about the tour and NYC in general. It was hot but he never faltered. Bert lead us on a multi-faceted tour. Every street was a destination whether we were tasting delicious food, getting the lowdown on neighborhood restaurants and shops of all kinds or learning about the history of Village architecture. It was a highlight of our trip.
Later that evening we went back to one of the neighborhood restaurants that Bert had told us about....there really was a 1700's farmhouse 'out back' annexed to the restaurant courtyard and surrounded by modern buildings!! Who knew. And the food there was superb....so that meal was a highlight of our trip too.
It was a good day in NYC! |

Our family of 5 enjoyed a hearty lunch and was thouroghly entertained by our witty and knowledgeable tour guide, Bert. He gave us a great back door experience through Greenwich Village and it's many tastey culinary as well as cultural treats. We would never had been able to sample and taste as many delicious foods nor gain the inside scoop without having been on this tour. Our family gives 5 thumbs up for Bert and Food Tours of NYC!!! Thank you for a wonderful taste of NYC. |

We thought our guide was very well informed, her voice projected well [which was important because there is a lot of background noise], and enthusiastic. We got a real sense of the West Village scene, history, culture and food. The venues were fun to visit and the provided food was varied and delicious. We all felt it was time well spent and a reasonable value. I think the narrative would be a little too long and detailed for young children. |
