Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

I would go again--- we went to new places

We took this tour on Memorial Day Holiday Monday, this type of tour was a new experience for us but we liked the combination of food and learning about the Greenwich village area. We are both (couple) very well travelled but I had not been to New York before, although my husband has previously lived in the US. Our group of 16 consisted of both local and international tourists. We found the tour well organised and interesting to hear about the history of the area. You mostly eat on the street and it should be noted these are tastings not meals so portions are not large. Don't skip breakfast or you will be hungry. You don't actually walk very far only quite a small area of Greenwich is covered in the 3 hours. On the positive side you do receive some good tips on where to eat later if you have the time and opportunity. On the negative side the guide was a little too forward in asking for tips. Overall I rated this a good tour but not an amazing tour - my background is 25 years in the travel & toursim industry.

It was nothing exceptional,being a localite,have had similar food previously.I can appreciate the alley ways of the old town of Greenwich village,and the Cherry Lane Theater. I think the food on foot tour at South beach Miami was great,we really had some great food,resturants gave some interesting food and shared their recipes.

Tour was very good. Guide was excellent & very knowledgable. I would recommend this tour & this guide to all.

The tour was a highlight of our trip to New York - the food was delicious and we bought olive oil from O & Co and other items from Murray's cheese shop. The best part was the information that we learned - Bert was very knowledgable. I particularly liked the building information - architecture, the hidden gems that he was able to let us view. We felt that we had an insight into Greenwich Village that most tourists may not be exposed to. All in all it was a delightful experience and one that we will repeat and tell our friends about. Our guide was Sephrah! I had taken my friend for our 23rd birthday, the tour guide, was unbelievably awesome! The food was amazing and the whole experience was something I am looking forward to doing again.

We did the tour the first day of our 7 day stay in NY. It was a great start to the visit and gave us some places to return to for meals later on in our visit. The food was great and by the end of the tour you had completed a 'meal'. The focus is the food but with some history of the district. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Our guide Bert did a great job. He was informative and entertaining. We were traveling with our teenage kids who had never been to NYC before and they loved it as well. They ranked the tour as their 2nd favorite activity in NYC. Attending a Broadway play only narrowly beat them for first. I would highly recommend the tour and will take another the next time we're back!

Our family had a wonderful time. We toured the west village and our guide (Bert) was fantastic! I have teenage children and it can be hard to find things that appeal to all of us. They loved it!! They remembered some of the interesting facts that they learned and they really enjoyed the tastings! A great way to spend a few hours in NYC!

$26 for two aperitifs was a bit steep. Recommend you drop the bar from your walking/eating tour. Tips might improve.
