Taste mouthwatering eats from undiscovered spots in the cozy corners of Nolita, where old-world charm meets a youthful, downtown vibe.

Loved our guide - food was marginal

There were 6 of us, cousins, who took the 11:30 tour on Sat Oct 4th and we loved our guide who's name escapes me - he was great, Overall the food started out very good with the chocolate cupcake - fabulous - but the pizza was a soggy mess - they cut the dough in 4's before baking so the cheese seeped through (very runny cheese) - needed a fork and knife....the corn, we all agreed was canned corn so not too impressive - although the venue was fun...bread with fresh mozzarella was really bland. the rest of the food was pretty good...

This was my second tour with foods of NY. And the experience just keeps getting better and better. My sister and I went on the Nolita/NoHo tour this past weekend and had a great time! Bert our guide was amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable on not only the food but also the history that surrounded us! He really was the perfect tour guide. I will definitely book a tour with him again!

Handled the Rain Better than Expected

As we might have expected, we traveled from SC for a long weekend in NYC and had rain only during the day of the tour! To further complicate matters, the directions from Midtown to the tour location were not very clear -especially when trying to gain your bearings in the rain- and we took the wrong direction from the subway (we come to NYC at least 3 times a year and know that part of the city pretty well), but corrected our course relatively quickly and made it on time. Our guide (Annie) was an absolute joy, who kept the tour going with relatively high energy, in spite of the persistent rain. We spent more time than usual indoors (probably) but had tasty treats and watched- then enjoyed- a pizza being made with prosciutto and arugula. It was great! An unexpected stop proved to be the most interesting for me. We went to a specialty shop, The New York Shaving Company, and the host was delightful! (He even offered a round of bourbon for those of us who chose to imbibe). We went back later to make a purchase and received another glass. We read a great article about James Marsden's visit to the shop the next day in the NY Times. The tour included wine and a lot of sweets, some interesting historical facts and a song at the end! Annie really made a day that started with very low expectations, turn into something special. Obviously, Annie brought the needed sunshine!

A food and cultural experience not to be missed

Our Nolita/Soho experience was our second food tour with Zerve. Quality was just as fabulous as Greenwich. Our tour guide Annie was AMAZING, friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and she managed to create an atmosphere for the tour that made you just want to get in and learn about the area and taste the foods they are so justifiably proud to share. Loved the stories behind each part of the tour and we really loved the tastes. It made you want to go back for more the next day. Go enjoy, eat, laugh, learn and broaden your horizons in a unique area in a way that you would never manage to experience on your own.

Interesting neighborhood, amazing guide!

We live an hour outside of NYC and have used this company 2 other times,(Greenwich Village and Chelsea) both very good. This was our favorite so far.Annie our guide was a guide, teacher, entertainer, friend and neighborhood insider. Her relationship with the area made our group feel like we were lucky to be with someone who was a member of a close knit family like community. We were lucky and saw a local street artist at work, and we were there the last day of San Genaro, which added to an already great day. This neighborhood's location, history, people, architecture and food made it a great place to learn about so we can go back to visit again.Italian,French, Mexican, Gelato, cupcakes....everything delicious-but it was not just the food that made this great.Went for our son's 18th birthday and he loved it .Had 3 birthdays in our group and Annie made it special for all.Our group had people from NC,Vancouver,Iowa, TX...everyone loved it. Best part is probably that you never feel like a dopey tourist on these tours.Low key, no flags or bull horns or busses. Just a nice informative few hours with a bunch of people who share a common interest and a neighborhood expert who makes you feel like you belong. A booklet with names of local favorites and some coupons given to each guest is a nice finishing touch to reference in the future. Thanks for another great time, Foods of NY tours-I let another group know about this tour, and they are booking soon!

The first clue that our Nolita/NoHo tour was going to be great was that every single person in our group was a repeat customer. And there were 16 of us! We loved the food, the stories, the inside scoop on the places we went to, but most of all we loved Anny! She was so open and friendly and delightful right from the first moment we met. Her love of the city was contagious and we will definitely go again.
