One of the best walking tours I've been on

Anny was personable and charming. Combine with her knowledge of the neighborhood, the fact that she loves food as much as the group and her ability to engender a group dynamic, made for a wonderful to spend the day. Two thumbs, way up.

We did the NOLITA/SOHO tour with our guide Anne. The tour was great! Very interesting NYC history of the neighborhood around the tour. We check out a bunch of very cool restaurants for small bites of delicious food. Our guide pointed out various buildings where bits of NY history took place or where movies we filmed, where famous people lived, ect. We went to a lot of places that I probably would not have noticed if I just walked by. We also stopped at a barber shop that practiced traditional men's shaving and cutting techniques. I actually went back to the shop for a shave later that day. I highly recommend this tour!

Fun Great Culture Tour

I heard about the culture tours a few years ago from some friends who were visiting NYC and raved about it. A very good friend who lives in Dallas has maintained an apartment in NY and asked me to come to NYC. I told her about the tour and we both totally enjoyed it. Burt was an excellent guide. His enthusiasm and sharing of interesting information and facts made it evident that he loves what he does! The next time I get to NYC, I will most definitely select another tour.

Happy with tour and guide

The tour was enjoyable. I feel that Public Restaurant wasn't featured enough. A bag with a piece of chocolate, pencil, matches...was disappointing. We also didn't get a true feel for Smile Restaurant. The rest of the tour was fabulous and our tour guide Anny was amazing. Personable, friendly, knowledgeable and took a great interest in each member of our group. She remember all of our names and address us by them.

Two couples did the tour. We really enjoyed. Our tour guide, Anny, was outstanding. The places that we went to were different from each other and very good. It was very interesting learning about the neighborhood which we had spent much time in before this visit.

This is our third tour with Foods of NY, and we haven't been disappointed yet. This was our second tour with Burt, and he is excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I really like these tours because they combine the food tastings with local history and culture. It is a nice balance that we really like. This tour provided a good variety of food - Italian, French, Mexican - and included main courses and desserts. We both left full. The group size is nice - not too large. The tours have always been very well organized - they start on time, the guides know exactly where to go and what to do, the restaurants are always ready for us.
