First time on a food tour

This was my first visit to NYC and my first walking food tour. What a fabulous way to learn about the neighborhood (Nolita and NoHo). I went solo because my husband was at a conference, but after he was done for the weekend I took him through the tour and enjoyed it all over again. Bert was so great explaining the history and describing the food - he really enjoys his work!! And food!! We went to places that I probably would not have - like the Little Cupcake Bakeshop on Prince but I returned to get a generous slice of the Brooklyn Blackout Cake. At Tacombi the group enjoyed esquites (roasted corn with a sauce) and I returned to get the fish tacos and watch a world cup game - that was fun. I enthusiastically recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Bert was fantastic. Even though it was his first time doing this tour solo, he seemed like a longtime pro. The attention to detail about all the restaurants we visited, interesting stories and history, also in-depth details about the two neighborhoods we visited was incredible. I learned so much and I've lived in NYC for over 10 years! His rapport with those of us in the tour was wonderful and I would certainly recommend anyone to take his tours. In addition, the food we tasted was spectacular and each restaurant felt like a gem in the city. All of them I would certainly revisit for a full meal with friends. Some other tours I have been on have done very generic restaurants, not this one. Each place seemed high-end, trendy and delicious! The portions were generous--the 1/4 of a pizza pie chock full of arugula and proscuitto was a highlight--and all of the owners/staff at the restaurants were friendly and welcoming. This tour is amazing for locals and tourists alike. I'll certainly participate in another Food Tour of New York tour, especially if hosted by Bert!

Our tour guide Annie was perfect! She described the neighborhoods and wonderful food in a delicious way. I would recommend this tour to anyone heading to New York City and want to experience the REAL NYC. She left us wanting more of it all. She ended our time together with a very sweet song.

Food tours is a great way to get to know a New York neighborhood. This tour was a perfect mix of history and food. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and interesting. The places we visited had amazing things to eat, and the amount of food was more than enough to leave us pleasantly full. I would definitely recommend this activity for anyone visiting New York, whether for the first time or as a frequent visitor. I have done a few other tours and all of them by this company have been outstanding.

Tour directors were excellent but it seemed like an additional stop or two could have been easily included. More in Noho would have been nice.

This was one of the best walking tours we have ever participated and this was due in large part to our guide, Anny. She was amazing! So knowledgeable with a great personality. The tour itself was great but she made it even better. My husband and I enjoyed the variety of food and we had a perfect weather day that made the walk that more enjoyable. It was great to try different places that were outside our comfort zone and since we are local, we will definitely go back to several of the places we visited. We highly recommend this tour.
