One of the best food tours I've taken so far!

I have taken almost all of the food tours with Foods of New York and this one didn't disappoint! We loved the neighborhood - so interesting and vibrant with a great mix of the new and old. Our tour guide, Annie, was the best! Her ability to remember everyone's name after one introduction was very impressive! But beyond that, she was entertaining, fun and a great story teller. The food tastings were great as well - I will definitely be going back to the establishments we visited (including the unexpected Shaving Company - with my boyfriend of course - what a treat). I would enthusiastically recommend this tour! PS. Please add more neighborhoods to your tours!..I've done just about all of them (some twice!) and need more!!

Another amazing food tour!!!

This was our second food tour we attended, and while the first was fantastic ( Greenwich tour), Annie, our fun and very talented tour guide, made this one even better! For our girls trip, we wanted to do more local things and nit the touristy things. While this is a tour, you experience what it is to be a local! The restaurants were all very different and amazing! The food was fantastic ( and we are used to great food being from the New Orlesns area). The extra stops along the way again made you feel like a local. Annie was very knowledgable about the area, restaurants and the people. You could tell that she loves her job by her presentation and side conversations. She was an absolute doll! We highly recommend this tour! We will definitely attend another one on our next girls trip!!! Thanks Annie... And we loved your song. Best of luck to you in all you do!

How can you go wrong with a tour that starts with dessert and ends with dessert! :) Burt and Annie were an amazing duo who introduced us to new and fabulous foods and restaurants along with a wealth of historical data in the form of interesting stories. I plan to take similar additional tours.

Not as enjoyable as our last food tour

Great tour leader, but but not a good group. A few (about 5 ) in our group spent so much time taking photos and sending them to friends? or whomever that we were constantly kept waiting for them to catch up. This meant that we had to rush our sit down stops, barely having time to finish our food sample. The tour company should put more emphasis on proper tour etiquette.

Bert and Annie did a great job of filling in all the blanks as to the history or the area in addition to the food stops. They were the best!

Our tour guide was marvelous and has a lovely sweet way of relating to the tour group. Her memory of all our names was astounding. I loved the special comments about the various city blocks, I.e. the buildings, the church and even a butcher shop. Of course, the food was amazing! I intend to revisit some of the restaurants we visited on the tour.

Great food, local history, & fun

My tour was led by Anny, with Bert in training doing some of the work. They're both fun, enthusiastic, friendly & very good at remembering names. The food was uniformly excellent, from/in interesting funky restaurants that I would definitely return to. A taste of wine at Tartinery was also very welcome (I'd happily pay more for a similar tour with more drinks included). Anny handled the unexpected temporary closure of one place well: she took a vote on which of two nearby alternatives we preferred, our choice of salted caramel gelato (Alimentari & Vineria) was yum, and it was otherwise as well organised as all the planned stops. Along the way we were given interesting local information about particular shops, businesses, the restaurants themselves, and the neighbourhood in general; this was well presented & never too much. The rain held off, joining instructions were clear, and Anny's song a surprising farewell treat ;-)

Anny (and Bert) were fantastic tour guides providing us with great information on the history and culture of Nolita and NoHo. Along the three hour tour there were ample opportunities to sit down and enjoy the great foods of the area. It was an interesting and delicious way to spend an afternoon in NYC. This was our third Foods of NY Tour and I would highly recommend this to anyone spending time in the area.

Annie was a great tour guide. She made the tour memorable. The background stories were so full of details without too much overkill. We will recommend this to everyone we know heading to NYC. We have already recommended to a few locals!
