This was an interesting way to get to know a bit of history about the Village and to get a glimpse of its many offerings. Food tastings were extremely rich, each and every one of them. People who put tour together must have had iron stomachs. Highlight of tour was olive oil shop - very educational. Cindy, the tour guide was educated about the area, but was condescending to one of the women on the tour and made some politically incorrect comments that made me very uncomfortable. As tour guides go, she was fair at best. |

The tour was great, and the guide excellent! Besides knowing alot about food, and the stores we visited, Bert also knew the history of the area and provided a great background. A wide variety of samples were provided-cheeses, desserts, olive oil, meats, appetizers, and bread! Highly recommended, whether you are a foodie or not. You won't leave feeling hungry :) |

Excellent guide, very knowledgeable, learnt lots about the neighbourhood and the restaurants there. Food was good and eye opening, would not have gone to those restaurants if not for the tour. |

A wonderful alternative for friends and guests looking for a "NY experience".
Our guide was excellent. There were a couple of repeat customers in our group who said the other guides were great also! I"m looking forward to trying out your other tours. |

It was the best guided tour I ever had. Our guide Curt was phenomenal. He had boundless energy, was thoughtful and caring, humorous, and most of all knowledgable about food, restaurants, Greenwich Village, and New York. The tour was great fun and very well organized. Curt made it so. Highly recommended to all visitors to NYC. |

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. The food was delicious!!! The tour guide was super! We loved learning all the history and stories of the area. So glad we signed up for the tour...we highly recommend it! And we plan to revisit the vendors when returning to NYC, and also ordering online, if possible. |

If you have $50 bucks lying around, 3 hours to kill, and you're in NYC, GO ON THIS TOUR! The food is amazing, the knowledge dispensed is interesting, and you get to really know a small swath of NYC in a short few hours. If you get a chance, ask for Bert- really smart guy that clearly loves the neighborhood and food it offers in a genuine, not-just-a-paycheck kinda way. |

Our tour of Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District exceeded our expectations. Our leader, Bob, was most informative and very enjoyable! The tastings were wonderful-cookies, cupcakes, Lobser Bisque, chowder, fresh jam and biscuits, and pasta with an oxtail sause--all delicious. We would not have sampled like this on our own. We were even confident enough to return on our own and enjoy the Market and its shops later in our trip. Definately worth the effort and cost. |

The Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour was exactly what my husband & I wanted from our visit to NYC. We love to eat and explore neighborhoods and this tour did not disappoint! Bob, our guide, was energetic and fun and full of truly interesting information. We learned a lot about the history of the area as well as where our favorite chefs had their own hot spots. The tastings were perfect, sweet, salty and savory were all covered...we were full following the tour for sure! We aren't really theater people, we'd rather eat our way thru the city...Next time we come we will definitely try other neighborhood tasting tours with Foods of New York! |

We had a stand-up comedian for a tour-guide so he really made the whole experience a joyous laugh the entire way. We ate our way through delish food, the walking was kept at a moderate level (much appreciated on a supremely hot day), and learned a lot about the local neighborhood. A great way to combine humor, food, history, and even a little bit of exercise - highly recommend! |

First, we arrived early and met our tour guide Bert. He kindly greeted us and gave us the tour booklet as well as some water. Bert was fantastic from first introductions. His down to earth manner and knowledgeable and humorous approach made us feel welcome and at ease. We began the tour with a brief description of what to expect and we were invited to be casual and to ask questions as well. We went to many fine establishments to sample pizza, olive oil, meats, cheeses, and much more. All along the tour we would stop and look at this building or that street and learn something new and fascinating about Greenwich Village and New York City. I would encourage everyone to take this tour. Well done! |

A great little tour of Greenwich village to find out a little history of the old New York, and the best way to try a bunch of restaurants if you have a limited amount of time.
We were recommended this by friends, and we were so happy to have done it. We were in NY for a week and did this tour near the start of our holiday which was great as we ended up making several trips back to the restaurants we'd sampled for dinners.
We would really encourage anyone who loves food and who wants to see a gorgeous part of New York to do this tour! |
