This tour is absolutely fantastic! It was fun to learn about Greenwich Village while munching on free food! At the end of the tour, I felt like I knew all about the neighborhood. Our tour guide was passionate and enthusiastic. I really liked the dynamic that the tour provided. I would recommend it for those visiting New York for the first time and who don't know where to start their sightseeing. It was a great experience!

We enjoyed every stop and the commentaries. I have food allergies and was prepared to enjoy the tour without "refreshments". But thanks to the places places we visited most every place provided something I could eat. That was such a treat. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the history of Greenwich Village and he shared the information with such humor.

Very interesting tour that included fascinating history of Greenwich Village as well as tastings of some great food. We came back a couple of days later to eat more of that great food! This was probably my favorite part of our visit to NYC.

Locals and tourists will love this tour!

Our Greenwich Village tour was fantastic on many levels: 1. Our tour guide (I've forgotten his name unfortunately) MADE the tour. He was an older gentleman who has lived in the Village for decades, wore a fedora and suit, was possibly and actor at one point in his life, and was so knowledgeable about the area and the history of NY. He brought the facts to life. 2. The sampling of different foods is wonderful. We got to sample arancini, pizza (2 different styles), high end olive oil, fresh bread, cheeses and wonderful cannoli's. It was a nice mixture. The quantity of food is definitely not enough to constitute a meal so you might want to go earlier in the day (before lunch) or in the afternoon (before dinner - could be your appetizer). 3. I learned about the history of NYC and specifically the Village. It was way better than sitting through high school history class! 4. Our guide recommended eating at Palma if we had the chance. So I went two days after our tour and it was one of the best meals I've had! And I went with locals who had never heard of it - and they were blown away. My local friends said that Palma's pasta with lamb ragu was better than Babbo's. Cheers to a job well done! I'll be back to take the Chelsea tour next time.

Our tour guide Cindy introduced us to the multifaceted neighborhood of Greenwhich Village. She not only made each and every one of us feel welcome and included, but also kept us entertained with her humor and insider's life in the area. The food was fabulous and well rounded.

Wonderful tour of Chelsea & the Meat Packing Area
Sun, May 11  11:30 AM njobtravel Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
This was a wonderful tour that started in the Chelsea Market. We visited and ate at most of the stores/shops, a great varied selection of foods and drink (Chocolate Milk that was to die for and Red Tea). Then our guide Darrell, who has to be one of the best, walked us around the area, telling us about the past, present, and future of the area, esp the Meat Packing District. We went to the top of a hotel, whose name is the same as one of the streets but I can't remember it except it started with a G, and we were able to see the area from way above so that was really interesting. Again Darrell was nice, informative, funny, an excellent guide! Take this tour and you will not be disappointed. Also they give you a booklet/handout of the area that describes what you will be seeing. The 3 hours went by way too quickly. I had such a good time I went back a couple of days later and did some shopping at the Chelsea Market. And my next trip to New York will definitely include a visit to Chelsea.

EXCELLENT - can't wait to do another tour!

This tour of the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District was FANTASTIC! The food we sampled was delicious, and from places we probably never would have found on our own. We had plenty of food - and even came hungry as others recommended. Our tour guide was excellent - he was full of interesting information, was funny, friendly and did a great job. I'm so glad my husband found this tour information online - now I can't wait to do another one in a different area. My husband and I have spent plenty of time in NYC and crossed off all the "Have to do" touristy things, so we're always looking for something new to do - this was a great part of our latest trip in an area of town we had never really visited. I've suggested these tours to several people already and know we'll do a different one the next time we're in The Big Apple! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This is a phenomenal tour. The food is delicious and the tour guide (Darryl) was absolutely fabulous. I've already told a number of people about this tour. It's a very interesting area that I knew nothing about. I learned a ton and ate fantastically. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Fabulous way to spend 3 hours in Manhattan

Ed was our guide on this Greenwich Village tour. He was just terrific! It was Mother's Day and the day couldn't have gotten off to a better start with being in the city on a very sunny and slightly cool morning. My children, my son 16, and my daughter 13, were with me and we all enjoyed this tour immensely. It is so much more than a food tour as you know, learning about a Manhattan neighborhood we knew so little about was enlightening and very, very interesting. And, my children were very much able to relate the history content to their current studies in school. Of course the food was All so yummy and absolutely delicious, but it was learning about this neighborhod that was equally, or possibly more, enjoyable. We are looking forward to the Chelsea Market tour which we have heard is also not to be missed.
