My wife and i enjoyed the tour, but found nearly all of the food unbearably salty. We had salty pizza, salty rice balls, salted olive oil, more olive oil (the proprietor smugly hinted at a secret ingredient in the second batch. Can you guess what it was? FRIGGIN' SALT.) We skipped the salami, because salt. By the time we reached the one or two sweet items on the tour, my wife and i had both drained our water bottles three times. It was unbelievable. We quite liked the historical portion of the tour, and absolutely fell in love with Greenwich Village. i had to wonder which stops on the tour were sponsored ... the O&Co. olive oil boutique in particular seemed oddly placed and heavily advertised. We received a coupon booklet at the end of the tour with some solid value in it ... we used the BOGO Bleecker St. Pizza coupon (terrible pizza there, btw ... don't believe the hype), and the BOGO gelato coupon which saved us five bucks. Great gelato, but i thought Grom (down the street) was better. They should have replaced the asspensive Italian sit-down portion of the tour with John's, since you can't order by the slice there. John's (which is not on the tour) was our second-favourite pizza joint in New York, though a distant second from Lombardi's in Little Italy. Kesté (in the neighourhood) was juuust after John's, and Joe's (which is on the tour) was in fourth place. Bleecker St., with its carboard crust, was a distant fifth. i really liked that our tour guide opened up and told us about her life in New York, including the size of her apartment and the amount of rent she paid. Possibly garnered her more money in tips ;)

I thought your Chinatown that we took last year had a higher level of restaurants but I still enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide knew her stuff. So all in all time and $$ well spent

We had gone on the Greenwich Village Food Tour about 2 1/2 years ago and loved it, espcially our tour guide Kirk. Decided to sign up for the Chelsea Market Tour for myself, my two grown daughters, and their boyfriends. I am from out of state, but the others live in New York and had never been on this tour. Much to our surprise and delight, Kirk showed up as our guide once again for this tour! He didn't disappoint and impressed us all with not only his knowledge of the building and area history, but his knowledge of food. And as before, his quick wit and ability to instantly learn the name of everyone in the group was highly entertaining. As before, I highly recommend. Oh, and the food was good as well--ended the tour feeling like we had eaten enough that we didn't need to eat lunch.

Cindy, our tour guide was full of personality and extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of the tour. Her food and history knowledge was very noticeable. She also seemed genuinely enthusiastic about all phases of the tour. She held our interest at every stop and as we were walking, She was easy to understand and talked over the noise of the city very well. Her presentations didn't sound scripted, but natural for her. My wife and I learned an incredible amount of facts on food, architecture, history, lifestyles, neighborhoods and other facts about New York City life. The food was delicious at every stop. The shopkeepers know and respect Cindy. She was thorough in her descriptions of the food preparations and the exact original cities the foods represented. She also saw many 'friends' in the neighborhoods as we toured, so she is very familiar with the area and family histories of all the places we visited. We certainly didn't need dinner for a long time after the tour. We have been on many tours and the guide can make or break a good experience. Cindy certainly added a great deal of fun and entertainment to our tour. We would also recommend this tour to any visitor to NYC, whether first timers, or seasoned visitors to the Big Apple.
