Get to Know the Real New York!

The tour provided a great overview of the architecture and history of Greenwich Village in addition to a yummy sampling and introduction to the culinary delights to be found in the area.
A very good printed packet was distributed to each participant as a reference to the restaurants and stores in addition to the excellent verbal information that our charming, well informed tour guide provided.
After the tour, my husband and I commented that we would never have seen and experienced as much on our own and the experience introduced us to an area that we look forward to enjoying on future trips to New York. |

We had a great time on the tour. Todd was an excellent guide and nice and funny, too. The food was to die for - each and every item we tasted was absolutely wonderful. My daughter, the l9 year old vegetarian, loved it so much she is inspired to come and work for you! The Market is definitely a jewel in the NYC crown and we have already told other friends and family members to look into doing it. Thanks for a good time and good food. And Todd, thanks for keeping us safe indoors when the sky was pitch black and the wind was throwing freezing rain in our faces. Next time we come, we'll go to the Meat Packing District to see it. |

We had a great time with our tour guide Kurt (Curt). You could instantly tell he knew his "business". Not only that, he had a great rapport with all the vendors that they welcomed us with open arms. Towards the end of our tour (the walking part of the Meat packing district) it started to rain buckets. We stopped at an Italian restaurant that was on our tour and the manager offered all our group (16) free soda and/or coffee and also set out a delicious side of deep fried zucchini!!!! All on the house. I am sure it is because of how our guide treated the businesses. He was just great with our group and so humorous. As a matter of fact, as we were walking through the Chelsea Market, a couple asked me what kind of tour I was on. I gave them the information and told them it was great!
Thanks so much and I will recommend this tour and your Greenwich Village Tour (I was on that tour several years ago and had a great time) to anyone I know who wants to get the "inside" info on both these areas of NYC. |

The three hours we spent with our guide Cindy touring the restaurants, tasting the food and viewing and learning about the architecture of Greenwich Village was the High Point of our four day trip to New York City!! The food was plentiful, the shop and restaurant owners friendly and we saw things we would have never found on our own. I would recommend this to everyone, resident and visitor alike. We tasted Pizza, Pastry and specialty foods. What a fun afternoon!! Thank you.. |

I enjoyed the opportunity to see the neighborhood and eat some of the speciality foods found there. I had no idea there was so much to see in this area. Some of the stories on the history of the area were interesting. The only disappointment - I was travelling with my mom who had originally thought she could easily make the tour due to starts and stops....however there is very, very little sitting time or places to sit even where there was time to do so and she had a hard time. Do not take the tour unless you really are able to stand and walk continuously. |

We enjoyed seeing a part of New York most tourists do not see but I thought 3 l/4 hours was a little long. The tour could have been at a quicker pace and the guide could have been a little more "focused". The food was good and the stores interesting but after two hours we just wanted it to be over. |

Our tour guide was Barri. She was extremely knowledgeable and thorough about the restaurants, food establishments, and history of the Village. She was very articulate and clear in her presentation and had scads of information. The food samples were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was worth every penny and I highly recommend it to everyone. I'd do it again. |

Barry our guide was most informative and focused. We had just enough time to be intrigued and curious about each destination. Just enough to catch the passion and intrigue she brought to the presentation |

WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH BARRI OUR GUIDE. SHE WAS VERY GOOD AT EXPLAINING EVERYTHING TO US. WE CERTAINLY SAW THINGS WE WOULD NEVER HAVE SEEN JUST WALKING AROUND. THE INFO ON THE RESTAURANT WAS TERRIFIC WE WISHED WE HAD MORE TIME TO TRY THEM, ESPECIALLY CORNELIA. ALL THE FOOD WE TESTED WAS GREAT AND WE WERE FULL BY THE END. |

This was my second time taking the tour, and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time. I planned a girls day for 3 friends that did not know each other, knowing this was just the activity we would all enjoy. Needless to say, we all thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the tour and the day, as we were able to spend the remainder of the day in Greenwich Village after the tour ended. We planned on having dinner in one of the numerous restaurants before getting back on our train, but we were still so full from the tour itself, that the best we could manage was soup and bread from Amy's Breads. Our tour guide Michael was fantastic. He was so interesting and lots of fun. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. I loved learning the history of the village, and the people that we encountered were extremely nice. As a native New Yorker, I think this is the perfect day to plan for someone visiting as well as someone who lives nearby. The three hours flew by, and we were so happy eating that we didn't even mind the rain! We will definitely be taking the tour again.
