This tour looked promising when I came across it on the Internet and it delivered even more than I had hoped for. It was a wonderful mixture of local architectural and cultural history woven into tours and tastings at delightful local restaurants and shops. My 16 year old daughter and I both enjoyed it tremendously.
We visited kitchens, dining rooms, and other areas that would not be available to the casual visitor. The food was delicious--diverse in both taste and type. A wonderful handout was provided that listed even more restraurants than the ones we visited as well as theatres, comedy clubs and other venues of interest. We came back that evening to eat at a restaurant we passed by and had a wonderful meal.
Our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and personable. He assured our comfort by providing a bottle of water, stopping at several points for restroom breaks, and finding shady spots along the way to impart information. This was the highlight of our trip and I would recommend it to anyone. I wish there was a tour such as this for every neighborhood in Manhattan. |

My family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village Food Tour. My children, ages 11, 13, 15 and 19, loved this tour as did my husband and I. Our guide was quite funny and full of insider information on the area and the restaurants we visited as well as the ones we did not. My kids hung on his every word and he answered all of their questions about the rich and famous who live in and around the area. The food was excellent and ample...we needed no lunch after the tour. The tour lasted 3 hours and my kids couldn't believe it was over so soon. Now that is a testimony! |

My mother was visiting from Minnesota and wanted a unique NYC experience. She absolutely loved the food tour. By the end of it, she had a list of restaurants she wants to try on her next trip. Our tour guide was knowledgeable; we appreciated the fact that he had lived in the neighborhood for years and knew not only the textbook history but the living history of the area. I live in Brooklyn and hang out in the Village and was amazed at all the things I did not know. I've already recommended the tour to friends and co-workers! By the way, I had some skeptism that I wouldn't need lunch after the tour, but I was delightfully surprised at the quality and quantity of the food samples. Thanks for a great tour. |

As a native New Yorker coming back after being gone for 21 years, this was a GREAT experience in not only food, but also some History I did not know. We came back the next night and ate at one of the recommended restaurants and I am sure when we are in New York again, we will eat there again. It also sealed it for me that I will not wait another 21 years to come back. In fact, it is helping me with my descision to move back some day (sooner than later). Our guide was wonderful and we will take your other tour next visit.
Thanks again for a memory that will always be with us,

Had hoped it to be more food tasting. It was a very interesting info about the village, but more cultural info than food info. |

Well, I am from Chicago and my friend and I decided to take this tour just so we can get some ideas where to eat in the Village. We had my 18 month old son with us and the tour guide was obviously not into children. The group was not that big and we really did not eat $40.00 worth of food. The places we ate at where very little. We thought we would have gotten more food to eat. The cultural part of the tour was very nice and very intresting. The tour guide Jenny was very good but the fact that she snubbed us because we where with a child was not nice. We where basically ignored and push to the back we felt because we where with a child.
All and all I would say to take this tour if 1) You are not starving 2) If you do not bring children.

The tour guide was exceptional. I would highly recommend the tour if I knew he was leading it. His name was Michael. He was funny, quick witted, (really knew the area, gave excellent historical detail and up-to-date details of the area), great social skills-
he made the tour!! Related well to everyone.

The four in my group all really enjoyed the adventure. Our guide, Chad was very informative of the area as well as the places we stopped to have a sample. We enjoyed the tour so much that when I return in July with family, we are going to tour the Greenwich Village site. Can't wait.
Thanks for a great tour Chad.

We enjoyed the food tour of Greenwich Village greatly, although its not just about food. This was our first trip to New York and we had an enjoyable and informative time which would not have been possible without our guide's insider knowledge.
Our guide, Jenny was entertaining and knowledgable and her enthusiasm for the area was infectious. As a result of tips from the tour we were able to get much more out of the rest of our day in the area and had a great meal at Surya followed by jazz music at the Cornelia Street Cafe.
Very much recommended. |

my adult daughter & i thoroughly enjoyed the tour. some might think mike goes into too much detail, but i found his intimate knowledge of the area, its history, and the people now living there, to be a terrific attribute, and enormously informative and entertaining.
i would recommend the tour, and when i return, will probably take it again. |
