| It rained steadily for the entire 3.5-hour tour but our guide kept our interest and offered a strong distraction from the rain with his knowledge of the classic central West Village and its historic clubs, hotels, coffee shops and hangouts. We sampled eight types of food on welcome opportunities to go indoors, learning first-hand why the Village/Soho may be New York's most ethnically diverse neighborhood and why eating there is as much adventure as it is appetite arousal. The guide, incidentally, spoke to be heard above the street sounds, although he sometimes rattled off his stories a bit too speedily. | ||||||

| Friday may 9th. Everyone showed up for the walking tour of Soho and central village and it was pouring rain and windy.Rajim our guide was interesting and informative. He tried to get us inside our tour stops to let us eat inside as much as possible. It was very good and enjoyable despite the weather. My recommendation is maybe a couple more eating spots, just don't tell us about how good the food is at certain places but let us sample them. My first tour of Grenwich Village we had 11 different eating places. Next I was at the Market area and that was 9 or 10 so a couple more would make it perfect, cause there was quite a span between eatries at the latter part of the tour but overall it was informative and interesting and I will definitely book for the 2 new tours. Japanese Tapas and Shisii. | ||||||

| Super. Yes, we did have great tastings at conspicuous places but the uniqueness of this tour is the discovery of small "hole in the wall" eateries that were great surprises! | ||||||

| We had previously done the West Village tour and were looking forward to another quality experience, but this surpassed all our expectations. Even though it was pouring rain, we had a blast as Curt, our guide, had interesting insights and/or humorous comments about virtually everything we tasted, asked questions about or just walked by. Five minutes in, he knew everyone by name and made the tour a very personalized experience for each of us. The food was varied, abundant and excellent. By the end, no one was thinking of lunch. From the ritziest restaurants to the Hogs & Heifers bar, everyone knew Curt and we were welcomed onto the premises. An entertaining way to spend a few hours. I would recommend it to anyone. | ||||||

| Our whirlwind trip to New York for a family bar mitzvah allowed us one day for ourselves. Starting that day with a Foods of New York tour was a great idea; our guide was friendly and definitely "knew her stuff"! The stops were fun, and the tastings were delicious. Even my husband--New York City born and bred--was impressed. We've been telling family and friends how much we enjoyed it, and will definitely take another tour. | ||||||

| This was my third tour and it gets better every time. This time, we got to see some of the backrooms of the restaurants & clubs and that was very interesting. The tastings were memorable, the proprietors gracious, and the tour guide, Marie, was fantastic. Keep up the good work! See you again soon. | ||||||

| Great way to get to know the details and stories behind the neighborhoods. Interesting history, knowledge of little known facts, found great hidden restaurants and were away from the tipical tourist traps. Food tastings were OK. Overall a great experince. | ||||||

| This tour was just fantastic. The weather was just dreadful, rain and strong wind, and cold. But, that didn't deter our tour guide, Ed! He made efforts to keep us warm and dry whenever possible. The foods were fantastic, and you really will get a good full meal on this trip. Great mix of food culture, history, and information about the city. Ed's enthusiasm and pride for his city was evident and he made the tour. Knowledgeable, entertaining, and downright funny! As others have said, take this tour early in your vacation so you can come back. I returned to the risotteria for a lovely lunch the next day. Enjoy! | ||||||

| Tour guide Ed was engaging, had an unusual depth of knowledge, a wonderful sense of humor, was sensitive to the needs of vendors and customers along the way, and was wonderfully accommodating to our group, which endured 3 hours of torrential rain to explore Greenwich Village [not one person bailed]. After the tour, my gang returned to several shops to purchase sampled delicacies. I felt like a pack mule, but I couldn't resist. Ed got us started on time, took us to some really neat places, and gave us a tidbits of history. All around fun--we'll do it again! | ||||||

| More historical information provided than expected. Great variety of great food, with an interesting combination of styles. Lots of local background stories. Staff at Cafe del Mare (starting point) fairly uninterested in selling drinks before the tour. To whom it concerns : expect a lot of Carbohydrates ! | ||||||

| We had a wonderful time walking and eating around the Village and SoHo. It was great to learn the history of the area and to be told about current spots to try both to eat and listen (comedy and music clubs), We were told about many places we would otherwise have just walked by and were tipped off as to what to order at many places. | ||||||

| Fresh mozzarella (half an hour old!); Delicious Greek yogurt ; gnocchi by a gourmet chef -- all of these and more in a few hours of a pleasant walk around Greenwich. Lots of information delivered by our tour guide Rahine - he's quite into food and gave more information on the preparation of food than I personally required. He also gave great tips on jazz clubs in the area, local and personal history, details about each restaurant mentioned. I'm sorry we weren't able to make good use of that information as we didn't have any other time in Greenwich other than the tour itself. I'd highly recommend using the tour as a starting point for your Greenwich visit and then eating at the great restaurants, getting to the great clubs and enjoying Washington Square when it's not under construction! | ||||||
